Everyone is entitled to his own belief. Just because you liked the song doesn't mean you are disobeying the law of the catholic church. I myself am a catholic but there are books of buddhism that I like to read and believe in. Maybe you should widen your scope of involvement regarding your rights as a human being then be free to explore.

I think it comes down to your own personal perception.
I'm not a catholic myself, but my husband is, and he doesnt see it as a rant against God or Jesus, just a rant in general. I guess maybe everyone has either had or will have a crisis in faith at some point, and everyone will need to vent and probably say things that they dont mean at that time. but yea.. personal perception at the end of the day.

I agree with CottonCandy or rather her Hubby, it is just another run of the mill angry rants that people write believing it will find a connection with other angry people and therefore is rather sad in fact, but I know what you mean though, there are some songs whose lyrics really turn me off but the tunes are superb,John Lennon`s `Imagine` is one of these.

It sounds like it's against religion in general, though the lyricist probably had some strain of Christianity in mind when he wrote it. You should examine the part of you that responds to this song--it could save you. Have you ever really asked yourself whether you need the control, bigotry, and superstition of religion in your life?

the unique form of the massive bang concept became proposed via a Roman Catholic priest who became additionally a physicist. the massive bang concept is a clinical concept. it rather is a practicable explanation for the measured recession of distant galaxies, the measured cosmic microwave historic past, the measures typical chemical composition of the Universe and it additionally explains Olber's paradox. it rather is consistent with Judeo-Christian concepts via fact it proposes there became a diverse start to the Universe. the sole different theory that has any credibility in any respect is the secure state concept which mean the Universe is already infinitely previous, however the secure state concept can't clarify the cosmic microwave historic past. those "religious" people who deny there is evidence for a great bang or that organic and organic evolution got here approximately are liars or are loopy. it rather is their faith it rather is fake via fact of that, no longer faith extra often than no longer. the individuals who deny are parasites on faith and are mendacity for funds, or they are the victims of those parasites and are the fools who pay.

I would say no but i am not Catholic. To me it just sounds like someone a bit bitter expressing that they dont need anything from a particular person.

Greetings Friend,
I will ask you, do you NEED any of that stuff. If you do not receive someones forgiveness, hate, etc, will you cease to exist? Of course not. So, maybe the song is speaking about truth. As far as your religion goes, I suggest you ask your priest.
sending love,

Pretty much everything is against the Catholic religion apparently, so I can safely say: yes.
