Yes,it would be too much. The economic worth of all the religions today shall be many times more than all the visible wealth of all businesses and profit related activities in the world. What about millions of people on the pay rolls or as beneficiaries of religions, the power they wield over followers and the socio -political influence they exert and the life styles unimaginable if they have to earn a living and so on?A religion free world will never be allowed by such a strong mafia for many many centuries to come. The stakes are simply too high to even think of it as of now.Sorry no religion free world in our life time and what happens there after, doesn't matter or concern us.

It is very hard, becasue all civilisations existed with it since the beginning of time. How can you take this away without doing harm to producivity, creativity and mental health to human race?
In the ethical level, if we didnt have religious teachings stop us from killing each others with nuclear weapon, how will our race end up?
I dont know why you ask such question, but do you not like religions? Becasue they are not knowledge bases? Becsaue they corrupted by their absolute power at times in history?
For the first question, think that no one knows everthings and perhaps our young race wont find all knowledge there are before we perish, so it shall be essential to live with belief and knowledge in the world.
For the second questions, yes religions can be corruted at times, but religions, societies, communist and Democracy dont live and dont breath. Only human live and breath religions are corrupted at times, becasue those conducted individuals became arrogant for power at their hands, is only human nature what can be found any where else.

it is all fine to respect the teaching of your religions - but sweet baby jebus! Don't ascribe all the moral character to religions!!!!! Most of the values are found in ALL societies, primitive to modern - and in all types of religions - which means they are human-universal and should not be ascribed as being created by a stupid religion that is only 2,000 years old.
in times of B.C. there was family love, honor and respect for neighbors - long before islam, jewish or christian people. Get over your selves.

Religion or no religion mankind has a funny way of knowing how to start a fight. do you really think that if religion was no longer here that the people of the world would just simply live in harmony and love one another, I don't think so my friend, If it isn't a fanatic cause it is for power or greed.

Not at all too much. there should be a firm control on religion, so they doesn't go crazy like christianity has. In some cases some religions like christianity should be illegalised and evaporated when they go too far out and are a threat to mental and physical life around them.

For the moment - yes. Things could change after a few centuries though. Don't hold your breath.
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful." — Seneca the Younger (4BC-65AD).

unfortunately, many people think they need some form of assurance - they are afraid to stand on their own, so they look for a crutch. Until we teach our people to be strong and to admire logic and intelligence; then religion will still be around; and used as a battering ram against those who are different (including those of other religions).
I suggest quietly standing for your morals and you will have others that understand and fellowship with you without bring thier stupid religion into the picture.
