It affects them just like it does a human. My cat got stung on her paw and it hurt her, she limped for a bit, we look her to the vet and he gave her some cream.

YES! Dogs are susceptable to the same reactions we have if we get stung by these pests. The sting is potentially fatal to a dog or cat if they get stung in or near the mouth - it will cause their throats to swell and close, killing the animal. The best home remedy for stings on dogs and cats is bicarbonate of soda, mixed into a paste with water and applied to the sting but the sting must be removed immediately or it'll secrete more poison if its squeezed by the dog or cat rubbing it to try and get it out.

Dogs and Cats can have an allergic reaction to bee stings just like humans, However...most of our four legged friends just feel the pain, have a little swelling and even limp and feel sorry for themselves for a while. If your animal does get stung it's safe to give them children's Benidril 0.25 - 0.5 ml depending on the size of the dog (0.25 being toy puddle size)
please note the 0 in front of the amount...this is less than a 1/4 of a teaspoon.

one single sting probably wont hurt the animal , but watch it carfully for the next few hours for trouble breathing , or blueish gums and lips , swelling that continues to grow, away from the effected area .. wich indicates the dog is having an allergic reaction.. take to vet immedialty.. if the dog has gotten more then a few stings take to vet as the toxins can be a large dose from many stings ,and requires attention.

get your pet to the vet immediately. enaphelectic shock (not the correct spelling!) can occur up to 24 hours after an incident. stings carry alot of venom for humans 100 pounds and up, imagine how much more potent venom can be in animals under that! my dog was stung by a hornet last year and three hours later I could barely wake her. cost was about 80 for the vet visit, another 80 for the meds...save her life. go!

Yes, it can kill them. I had a dog that swallowed one and his throat was closing shut. Times like that are when you just give em benadryl and not worry about the side effects. Take the dog immediately to the vet after you give it to them. I also have a child's epi pen on hand in case the dog is too far gone to swallow.

It's not exactly good for your dog to get stung, but he'll get over it. I used to look after a German Shepherd dog who enjoyed eating wasps and got stung every day.
