How can Tube mean anything insulting? I really don't know a tube is a tube to me.

I have never heard it as an insult, but a tube is a hollow vessel so that's my guess. (Additional) I have just seen someone suggest that it means fat but that would be spelt tubby.

Pretty meaningless. Like calling them a spanner, plank or muppet. All not-so-serious insults to denote slight stupidity, usually used between friends.

I believe it's reference is to the shape. Making the similarity to a persons thinking ability, narrow and drawn out.

Usually it is expressed after someone has given their opinion and the recipient disagrees.

as far as i know its ment to mean that someone is fat..... though you can never be too sure these days......
