Well, that is what a lot of actresses do.
A human hair wig is the most natural looking option. It can be cut, styled, permed or colored to suit your personal taste. Human hair wigs are more durable than synthetic wigs. However, human hair wigs are more expensive that synthetic wigs and require more care. They have to be shampooed, dried, styled and conditioned, just like your natural hair. Like your hair, they can lose their style if they get wet and frizz on humid days. If you feel that you are not able to provide the care required of a human hair wig, there are human hair-synthetic blended wigs that offer a natural look and will retain the style better than a 100% human hair wig.
Most fashion wigs come with 10% to 30% too much hair, which is why all wigs can benefit from fine-tuning by a professional stylist. Some wigs may require minimal shaping, whereas other wigs may need significant thinning. One of the secrets to successfully wearing a wig a wig is having it professionally styled on your head to suit your features.

Before I bought a wig, I'd go to a good beauty salon and get a really up-front assessment of what can be done with your own hair. There's some really fine people who know their stuff.
But if you find you still can't be satisfied, cut your hair pretty short before you go to wearing a wig, or it won't fit right and your head will be hot. The local wig shop may be able to order a good one for you, so that if it doesn't fit or just doesn't look right, they can take responsibility for making the exchange.
I find that when I buy things on-line, I tend to keep them even if I'm somewhat disappointed, just because returning them is such a nuisance.

Good morning, Heron :-))
I'd suggest starting with a really good salon. They are not cheap, but neither are good human hair wigs!
A good salon will be able to "diagnose" your hair, and offer suggestions on cut, style, products to help with how your hair lays. A good salon can also advise you on the best place to get the best human hair wig, if that is the last resort.
If they cannot help you, they can recommend a doctor. As others have said, an MD may be able help.
The very best of luck to you. You are beautiful inside, I have seen it.

I don't know anyone that likes to wear a wig they are hot and itchy. Besides heaven forbid you get stuck in a wind storm. You need to get the core of why your hair isn't healthy. It is usually related to diet so be sure you are drinking water and getting all your vitamins. Talk to your doctor you hair can be a good way to see what is going on inside your body.

You can fix your hair. Modern medical science can help you. Don't be afraid to go see your doctor. Try Web M.D. on the Internet. Personally, I would rather be bald than wear a wig.
Wearing a wig is like wearing heavy make-up to cover up blemishes. Even if somehow people don't notice, you STILL know yourself. Don't give up on your own body.

very thick hair can be helped by using intense moisture conditioners and frizz control shampoos, colour damaged hair should be trimmed at least every 6 weeks and consider layering if badly split and broken ends. To tell if the hair is dead at the ends roll your hair and try to tie a knot in it if it unfolds your hair is healthy, if it stays there or matts in a ball , its pourus which means it is not accepting moisture into it so it cannot rejuvenate, it will have to be cut, it should not feel scratchy or crunchy if it does you have severe damage, the only way to fix this is cut it, then intense moisture packs twice a week.

I know this sounds mean but pull a Britney, shave your head.
Wear the wig till your hair grows back, meanwhile let your hair grow naturally. It'll look good once its done growing

i think that you should consult a hair specialist first and ask if there is anything you can do to fix it,,, because fixing it would definitely be better than hiding it... goodluck.. :)
