Why would they be nice to you? Just to say to them you are nice?. Or do they do the good things because they like to help others for free? and would they help someone with out no one noticing them helping would they be happy about it? I think not. If you say just I want something in returns but from who, if you helped a poor and this poor would not thank you so you conceder yourself lost that money or that time?

It is in our human nature to love the praise of others. We love praise and dislike punishment. From our infancy, we are praised for acceptable behavior and scolded for unacceptable behavior. By the time we're adults, our behavior is controlled by imagined praise rather than so much by direct praise. Our years of training make us feel bad if we are dishonest and feel good if we do some good deed.

For those who reject God, feelings are everything. Feelings are a very weak foundation for morality because feelings have no moral authority over us. We are not obligated to follow our feelings.

God rejectors don't want to think that their morality is just based upon feelings so many deceive themselves into thinking that they are inherently good and therefore their feelings are based on their inner goodness coming out.

Nuns? Yeah, I've seen them. How does that relate to me having morals?

The "nun" believers? Not sure who they are, but it's probably just a "habit" they have.

People generally do these things to make themselves feel better because they know they did something good. Has nothing to do with religion.

I assume you mean nonbelievers. and we do things simply because it is the right thing to do, not for profit, or because people will notice. People who do things simply because their religion tells them they must are fooling themselves, they are not charitable, and don't help anyone but themselves

So is that religion is all about, keeping the brainless sheep in order, because they can't behave without their god babysitting them?
