Flying on Northwest airlines... two legged route but the one I really need power for my DVDs is from LAX to Tokyo.

Get a spare battery if possible.
Charge as much as you can while in LAX.
If you really need power, a secret I have is the power outlets in the restrooms!

usually not but there are exceptions. Call northwest and request a seat with this service.

no i dont think so unless possible if your in bussineess class some airlines are adding pplug in spotas in bussiness class but it mihg tonly be ofr laptops depends but in coach no not likley.
