You probably do not like/enjoy the program & find it boring you to death.
Things to do to help:
1) Have a light nourishing meal (breakfast & lunch) before going to class. A heavy stomach needs more blood to woek on the digestion. There would be less blood in the brain, thus reducing the oxygen level and bringing on the desire to rest/sleep.
2) Have a self talk -- talk to youself in your head. Tell yourself "I better learn well or I'll lose my job".
2) Sit up straight. Take a deep breath, bring the air all the way, deep into your lungs, expanding your chest as you do it. Hold your breathe to the count of 5. Then breath out very slowly. Repeat 10 times.
It is difficult to nod when you are sitting up, straight. The deep breathing bring in more oxygen to your brain and helps to keep you refreshed and awake

I would suspect that you are not really interested in these classes and that your employer is making you take them. Since they are probably boring to you you lose interest quickly and become tired.
If there is anything that you can find that is interesting about these classes it might help you if you could focus on that aspect of it. Perhaps you could anticipate seeing a particular person in the class and imagine being able to talk to that person. Maybe if you forced yourself to take notes that that would keep you awake because you would have to pick out the most important things that the speaker is saying in order to make a note of it. Perhaps you could do some mental gymnastics or play games in your head in order to stay alert.
Start thinking of ways to stay focused and alert because what they are teaching you may help you later when you are doing your job.

Try not to eat a heavy lunch before training class, or try eating healthier foods with less fat.
Drink lots of water. Frequent breaks also help me stay awake. Maybe you can participate in training more often, and sit near the front so you have to force yourself to stay awake.

Evan,
You need to supply the intention to learn. Remember, if you want to do well at work, you need to know what they are teaching you. What you are struggling to do is provide the motivation necessary to stay awake, and to care that you know what you need to know. You must provide that yourself. What you learn in doing this will help you throughout your life.

Your eyesight might be a blur...... consult a doctor but if that is not the problem, I suggest you to go to the hospital for a check-up. It might be that you need extra sleep or you need better sleep.

bring an ipod with you. Don;t forget to put the favorite songs into it. Some boss will let you listen to music while at work.
