eat moderately...break your meals into half...eat the first half...then wait for a few hours before you eat the other half...
this sort of like tricks your stomach to think that you're constantly full...so your metobolism rate goes higher...
NEVER starve...coz then your metobolism rate goes slower...and instead of losing weight...youll put on weight...
also...when you feel like snacking...eat fruits!!!
do stay away from all those unhealthy stuff though...they wont help...
and finally work out...if youre not the gym kinda person..just go for a run

That's a lot to lose in that amount of time.
I have eaten my usual diet, just smaller portions. I have lost one stone this year and keep dropping. I eat fruit, vegetables, nuts, dark chocolate, small amounts of pasta, little bread, cheese in small amounts.
I don't eat meat, but if you do, just have a small amount at a time. Try to eat five or six times a day and exercise. I think this a way to change how we eat to be satisfying and make a permanent change for the better. Here are several sites that can help you figure how much food you need and help make good choices:

hi,
i have lost just under 2 stone in 10 weeks by sticking to a very simple diet.
cereal for breakfast, turkey salad sandwich (on wheat) for lunch & a piece of grilled chicken fillet with lots of salad & light dressing for dinner. I have drunk 2 litres of water a day & when i have felt like snacking i've had fruit.
also as a little treat try a cereal bar ,very low in fat & cal's.
ryvita mini's are good if you crave crisps as well.
