So when I left school the first thing I wanted to do was join the Australian army as a rifleman in the reserves, then I would consider fulltime and what other position I may apply for.

I applied Nov06, Did lots of tests and interviews and they rejected me in May 07.
Said I should be working, though I applied after school -perfect explanation. They even told me not to worry about my resume too much, otherwise I would of done it up alot more, and got recommendations off cousins and friends in army who are Captains, and one friend is in local reserve.

So that really pissed me off and let me down, specially the guy that interviewed me, he was a total asshole who talked about his daughter the whole 2 minutes. Psychologist was ***** too.

Anyway not much luck with jobs, I had 1 job as Jackaroo but quit.

I can reapply to army in May, and even apply as a commando since i will b e 19.

Do you think I should apply to the army or just forget it? They did waste my time and say crap

I was waiting to get into army so I could do all my training, then get a job after or join fulltime, so I wasted all those months wasting, what a regret.

The interviewer told me to join maccas, didn't ask me questions or interview me properly, only 2 minutes i was there. He said to me i was unenergetic? I can pass the fitness test easy. Also said i was too immature. But he talks about his grade 8 daughter. So don't say im just angry because he was an ass. same goes for other woman.

Recruiters said I would get in find and don't worry about resume and just say your joining to try oit out

Your mistake was that you wanted to join the reserves straight out of school. The reserves don't take newbies with no skills. People who are employed in the army reserve do the same or similar job as to the one they already hold in civillian world. If you want to enlist as a riffleman and actually be trained then you need to enlist in the regular permanent Army and do your 4 years initial training. For eg: a nurse working in a hospital works as a nurse in the reserves, same for lots of other trades. As a riffleman you would need weapons training so if you don't already have this, you can't enlist in the reserves in this field until you are trained. Contact defence jobs and apply to the regular army, if you pass the fitness and health requirements then this will solve your problem of having no skills.

You can try the British Army! You eligible if you are Australian: you'd become a commonwealth soldier. It's a long process but if you are really into the military, it's worth it.

There is no harm in trying. Reapply again so that you will be deployed in Iran. The Army needs you to combat terrorism.

With the problems you're having you might want to consider taking a stab at acting and look for a bit part in a movie with Roman soldiers in it. ;-)
