I have noticed this with my own boyfriend my boyfriend emotionally abusers me alot of the time & never understand my feelings or respects me or appreciates me but when we argue & i get a little bit angry more coming of upset & i start to raise my voice at him why does he get up real quick & start punching things & yelling & getting all abusive? Is it cause he doesnt want to deal with how i feel?

It is because he wants to be in control. As long as he has the upper hand, and you are being a doormat, that is the way he feels in control. If you argue back, thereby denying some of his control, he becomes even more aggressive to maintain control. You are right, he doesn't want to deal with how you feel. I would seriously consider getting out of this abusive relationship. Life is short--is this really what you want? Dump him.

The abuser has to be on top and in control of the situation at all times. When you up the stakes, he then feels the need to go higher. It is the reason that abusive relationships get worse and worse.

i grew up in an abusive home i think the best thing u should is leave now no matter what he says to u is not worth it things will only get worse u deserve better
also my dad wud defend other people being abused but wud still do it to my mum

His abuse is how he controls you. When you 'dare' to fight back, he loses it. You need to get out of this mess asap...abuser's don't want a fighter, they want a whipping post to make them feel better about themselves. He's lucky you don't have about five guys beat his you no what when he starts in on you. That would calm him down..time to get out of this relationship, before you guys end up in jail or worse

the answeris because they hate that part of themselves that is abusive. the abuse itself comes from suppressed anger and triggers the anger again when done by others
