We are not at war with Iraq, we are at war with the people that attacked the US at the WTC on 911, those that support killing Americans and those that do the attacking on us and innocent Iraqis. They are insurgents that have come from surrounding countries like Jordan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc. They have chosen Iraq as the battlefield to fight Americans and to kill the infidel of the western world. This is not Bush's war, it is our war.
Do you believe that it is those who want the benefits of peacetime military that are crying "stop the war" so they can freeload an education and other military benefits without earning them?
Do you believe that it will all go away if we pull out of Iraq?
If so can you explain your theory?
Do you have another plan, better? What is it?

lets start with your original question. not your liberal rant.

Yes, I really believe we are at war with Iraq. I'm sitting here in Baghdad right now. I carry a rifle everywhere I go. I've been blown up by IEDs, I've been mortared and rocketed. Our base gets shot at every day. do you really think we are not at war?

As for the education benefits go, yeah, a lot of soldiers join the military for the education benefits. They wouldn't get to go otherwise. Yet, they still put their education on hold to come to Iraq or Afghanistan for a year or more. You can't tell me that we are "freeloaders". We work our butts off over here, so that you can sit behind your computer and saying whatever comes out of your butt.

No, i don't believe all the violence in Iraq will go away if we leave, it'll get worse. the Sunni's, Shia's, and Kurds will fight a long and bloody civil war. I pray the victor is Pro-Democracy.

I have a plan for you, pick up an M-16, and patrol the streets. Come over here. I dare you too!

Report me if you want to. I really don't care if you do.

God bless our American Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen.

We are not at war with Iraq. We are at war IN Iraq. We are fighting not only insurgents from outside the country, we are also, and on a greater extent, fighting extermist groups from within the country, both Shia and Sunni. You know them as militias.

We are fighting for security and stability within the country. There is a power vacuum which the government cannot seem to fill, so many others are trying to fill it. Unfortunately, countries like Iran are helping them try to fill this vacuum.

Unfortunely, this struggle will not end, at least not the way we (the US) want it to end, if we were to pull out of Iraq right now.

I agree with your assessment on not being at war with Iraq. The enemy are the insurgents/ cowards that hide among Iraqi innocent Men , woman and children and kill whoever get in there way. In all the engagements where the insurgents have tried to fight our troops in actual combat situations, they have never won a thing but the loss of life.People don't understand what will happen if we pull our forces out of Iraq today or in two years from know. The country of Iraq will become a safe house for every kind of terrorist in the World. They not only could and would be able to regroup and form a terrorist organization to wage war against all.If kept unchecked they are seeking to make nuclear weapons to use at will. No Country in the free World will be safe if this occurs. We are at war with a very elusive foe and must not stop fighting at all cost until freedom is restored and the wicked destroyed forever. ''God Bless us all''.

I am stationed at a FOB called Camp Rustimayah outside of Baghdad. If you think there is no war happening here, come hang out for the night and see what it feels like to hear mortar rounds land near by and watch people get taken out of the hospital without arms and legs. For all of you of your political conjecture you seem to forget that there are people here in Iraq everyday that are in danger and getting killed. We are at war, just not with Iraq as a country. But don't act like its some intangible water-cooler topic because it's VERY real to a lot of people.

You are not very intelligent are you?

Remember the reason we first went into Iraq? It was due to them supposedly having WMD's. The "terrorists" were not in Iraq until we started to occupy the country. They blossomed from the Iraqi people and surrounding countries. Gee why do you think that is?

Also I am quite sure that Al Qaeda's recruitment has sure seen a surge since the invasion of Iraq from all of the killings of the civilians there. Considering just about every Iraqi is related to or is close to someone that has been killed there.

Sarah R below me has been successfully brainwashed.

Sure are a lot of people getting killed if you think it is peace. USA is trying to occupy Iraq and has the intention of invading and occupying Iran. The attempts to put Iran under strict sanctions is meant to weaken it so it can be invaded easy. Just like Iraq. Are you ready for phase 2 of the Great American Oil War.

that is any opposite direction around. genuine patriotism is whilst voters easily care approximately what happens to their united states of america. Do you understand that between the founding concepts of this united states of america replaced into the the terrific option for that is human beings to question and disagree with the government. If it replaced into unpatriotic to question the government, the U. S. might nevertheless be the 13 colonies of large Britain. i think of the troops have performed their activity. They liberated Iraq, they stayed long adequate to be certain a central authority, and that they have softened up the insurgency to the place the Iraqis would desire to stand up and combat. it's time again homestead.

well first off go look up the word insurgency. insurgents don't come from other places. second this is not my war, it is Bush's. iraq did not attack america, some criminals from saudi arabia did.

we are supposed to be liberating iraq. of course that's not happening, their government asked us to leave, but we're planning on building bases and staying for years.

where is bin Ladin?

Nothing will go away if we pull out of Iraq. I think leaving will be viewed as weak. I honestly don't understand why people (by people I mean my fellow Americans) are so angry about us having troops in Iraq. Are we supposed to just roll over and say, "Gee, that sure was a nasty act of terrorism you pulled on us back in '01... But please, go about your business with no retaliation from us whatsoever!" We have troops over there trying to find these people that hate America, that want to destroy our country, that pray for the day that every last "infidel" is dead. They need to stop whining and show more support for the troops who are dying to defend the freedom of Americans!
