Hyprocracy.
It's a case of do as I say not as I do.

well i see that many people have used insult. that is childish. please stop on behalf of humanity. anyway. here is the problem. many chrstians can say this, that God is infinitively old; that is he always there. You cannot say that about the "ooze" it is simply illogical. if somthing were to evolve out of an object within a (large) time frame, then it cannot be older than that time frame. i.e. lets say that it took 500 million years to evolve into what we call humans today, thus it would be 500 million years older than it was before it started. If it always was there, then how can it be 500 million years older than infinitely old? so therefore there is no logical explination for where the universe came from except through a God or gods.

1) If an atheist were to say they don't know where God comes from would cease to make them atheists. They would have to be reclassified as agnostics of one form or another.
2) What vague theories do you speak of? Of the scientific theories I know (off the top of my head, which are a few, seeing how I teach the stuff), none of them are vague.
3) Most reputable scientists are going to say they don't know precisely how life arose. There are a number of scientific hypotheses, though, and scientists are trying to investigate them as we speak (see my post to one of your previous questions). Most can say without a doubt where the complexity of life came from, though...we have one of those "vague" theories you speak of--it's called the theory of evolution.

Contrary to your questions and comment I've found more Christians have claimed to definitely know where God came from or Jesus depending on the denomination those beings being one in the same and atheists of varying philosophies and "degree" of atheism have no problem with saying their agnostic as far as any gods existing, God of the bible included. So...............

Those that believe in God put no thought into the evolutionary process, believing that we just popped up from no-where and deciding to believe in something just as fake.
The truth is a million billion little evolutions created us, and those little selections were possible.
People aren't happy to just say "I dont know", we want the truth. Its why we stopped evolving a fur coat and instead decided to kill the animal and wear one. Its why a million questions and curiosities have led us to our technology - we aren't happy with the unknown. God or Evolution, each has an answer. You decide on what you prefer the unknown to be.

except that we do know at least some of those things. the complex diversity of life is plausibly explained by evolution: although we don't know all the historical details, it happens now, it can be observed. various scenarios can be tested as more evidence is collected. god is not like that. god is not even believed to be like that in principle. why can't you cut out the middle man and say that you don't know if god exists? i suppose you won't think that's fair, but that's my perspective.

Atheists say "I don't know" much more willingly than Xians, whose pat answer is "gawddidit". Perhaps the only place the will say it is in relation to "god" but more likely their response will be "He's always been there". That's the response I always get.
As far as atheists' reply to the your question, they will never say "I don't know" as they don't believe your sky daddy exists. Sorry, I know where "he" came from, man's feeble attempts at explaining things to himself. Other than that, nowhere, man.
Stop trying to put your twisted words into our mouths.

I don't even know where the ooze in our back yard came from.
As for god, I suspect he was created by a big god a longer time ago. Amen?

Origin of life is a grey area. Common descent is all but clear.
Why can't Creationists put facts behind their assertions?

Why are you equating atheism and science, and asking science questions on R&S?
Obviously any organic matter from an asteroid had to have come from a planet that life evolved on.
