I, for one, would like to see NASCAR allow women such as Erin Crocker and Danica Patrick try their hand at racing with the "big boys".
I'm sure that the majority of male drivers would probably have an issue with this, since NASCAR has been a male dominated sport. As for me, I enjoy racing, and can only hope that in this country that claims equality for all, why not allow women, and blacks, the opportunity to race.
I'm not black, but you can't tell me that Afro-Americans don't belong in Nascar either. I'm from the South, and there's plenty of blacks in the south, and I've known a few that ran moonshine(the reason Nascar's roots run deep in the south) also.
If we are going to allow foreigners to race in NASCAR, let's also allow all of the American population the same privilege.

2 nights ago ESPN featured a Kansas City female driver named Jennifer Cobb that races asphalt late models at I-70 Speedway in Odessa Mo. Jennifer is a 2nd generation driver. Her father is Joe Cobb a local dirt modified racer at Lakeside Speedway, the track that produced Clint Bowyer. She had a local hospital, Providence Saint Margarets as her main sponsor but she failed to qualify at the Kansas Speedway. Look for Jennifer in the future as she is talented, quite attractive and has gotten exposure racing in front of the likes of Richard Childress, Jack Roush and others.

Erin Crocker has been making a name for herself in ARCA. I believe she has the highest finishing average of any woman ever in that series. She had a shot at NASCAR with Everham, but she wasn't quite ready for it. Now she deserves a second chance. This time they should give her time to develop her skills.
The most interesting rumor is that Danica Patrick will follow the defection from the IRL to NASCAR after the 2008 season--if she wins the IRL Championship.

There have been female drivers. None have really had much success. The problem is finding one that is there because she earned it not because she is a girl. Crocker had a good shot but dating your team owner set her back. You start getting the is she here cause she is good or cause she is doing her boss?

Maybe Erin Crocker. Jack Roush had her in his Gong Show. Its a competition among some up and coming drivers. Winner get a shot of driving for Roush. Test their driving skills and personality

I have heard Danica is considering it but not at least this next year. To WooleyBooley, she may throw hissy fits, but how is that any less mature than breaking your hand punching something when you are frustrated? Are you afraid of girls?

You're kidding. It takes talent plus commitment. Danica Patrick, for one, has the talent. her problem is she's a spoiled, pampered little princess. Ever since she was walking away from her race car after it broke, and she had her little hissy fit of stopping and stomping her feet, that told me she can't hack it.
