I would say Samsung, although the Sony Bravia is also an excellent range.
I used to think Sharp had the edge, but Samsung have definately taken it for me & influenced my purchase.
Ebuyer do an excellent price on 32" Samsungs but go for a 40 if you can accomodate and afford it.

I have heard that Samsung and Sony actually share the same screens?

I think that various owners will give biased opinions. Mines is the Sony Bravia. Its the only purchase that I've made and of which I am still fascinated by the concept of definition of clarity even 1 year after purchase.

i would have to say samsung rite now is making the best HDTV's out there. my cousin just bought one and the picure quality is very sharp. i played with his ps3 on it and it was amazing. its competetively priced, and much better technology than most HDTV's. i would really recommend samsung. pioneer is another good one, but samsung i feel personally is the best. i am getting one for my self soon.
