His middle name is the last name of both his parents, sometimes pet lovers can be mean just like everyone else in the world.

Uh, this doesn't seem cruel to me by any means. I have a friend named Jack Russell and some thought was given to his name by his parents. He is tough and wirey and means business even though he is short stature. He never one moment has had less than pride in his name. Are you so sure your friend is ashamed of his name or is hurt by it in some way? You might we way off base.

I'm sure they didn't mean to be mean. He was their baby boy after all. They must have just loved a Jack Russell to an insane degree, but I know they did not mean to mean. And perhaps they thought it would be funny and give the boy character. I can almost agree as I have an odd name and hated it growing up, but I love it now because it's uncommon and kinda hot. But come on. Jack Russell? No, they were not being mean. Just stupid, or perhaps they were just high. One just doesn't give birth to a child and decide to saddle him/ her with a stupid name. Maybe they just had a questionable sense of humor at the time.

No I don't think it is bad at all. My daughter was going to name her son Jack Russell to. Jack after our favorite uncle and Russell is her boyfriends middle name. But her boyfriend insisted she name him Zachary instead. She did for him. I felt she should have named him what she wanted.

I wouldn't worry. One of the best English Cricketers was a Jack Russell, he was a little terrier alright. He was very good at what he did. It's only a name after all.

Well at least its a real human name...not named after just a word that isn't used as a name. At least they didn't name him Parson Russell...

I don't think so necessarily depends on what the name is. I mean I wouldn't go Man O' War even though he was the **** in his day.

Why is that mean?? I have a kid named Doberman Pinscher.. He does fine, no one picks on him.. In fact the other kids are afraid of him.. Worked out well for him.
