I dont think you can tell how many babys they are going to have. but if you make it either hot or cold you can change the gender if its cold its female or hot its male or the other way around..

Hope it helps

There is no way to tell for sure until they are born. Sorry.

Personally, I have seen hamsters have as few as 3 in a litter, and the biggest litter I ever saw was 16.

A hamster's first litter will almost always be small. Each litter after that usually gets a little bigger. Litter size starts to go down again as the hamster ages. Although this is a typical pattern, not every hamster will fit into it. I have seen first time mother's have 10+ babies in a litter.

Just remember that a female hamster is pregnant for about two weeks. If the male is left in the cage, the female can get pregnant again right after giving birth. Each baby hamster can get pregnant between 6 and 8 weeks. So it is very, very important to keep your hamsters separated into males and females so you don't have a population that gets inbred and out of control.

Good luck

They only way you can tell with any certainty how many babies a pregnant mother is going to have is with an ultrasound. The ultrasound costs in the range of $300 (here in Canada anyway), so it may be best if it is a surprise...:)

Congratulations on your kits!

i dont think you can tell.just wait.seperate her from the others so they dont get killed or injured or neglected by their mother.as soon as she is showing signs of labour then seperate her imediaetly move the others but leave her where she is it might be stressfull for her and the babies.
