We don't have to create a universe. It's already here and you are sharing it. (So big-hearted of us, no?)
As far as religion, it's busy proving itself wrong.

Nope. It's because not all religion teaches some supernatural means of how the universe was created. That is called mythology, and not all religions believe in something supernatural. Science would only further my appreciation for my religion. You have not practiced a religion ever (christianity is a political party) so you will not understand. Regardless of what science says, the practices work, the rituals work, and the things within my religion help me to grow as a person. Sorry but you can't just throw religion into a box and stick a label on it so that you never have to deal with it. Religion is a huge part of humanity, and if you really think that humans for thousands of years, billions of people, ONLY practice religion because they are brainwashed or don't understand science then you are arrogant. Try experiencing a religion, or maybe actually studying one before you talk **** and act like science can replace something that deals with the subjective universe.

Ha! Good one... First, prove *what* religion wrong? There are many religions, with many different views of creation and of science.
Even if scientists did create a universe, that would not prove religion - any religion - wrong, no more than proving evolution, or that the Earth is not the center of the universe, has proved religion wrong.
Nor would it prove that religion - any religion - was correct.

People will continue to believe in the supernatural even with the lack of evidence. It's the product of a faith-based outlook, unfortunately. Look at the large groups that deny evolution, despite overwhelming evidence in its favor. Some Africans suggested lemon juice as a treatment for AIDS, and one Bishop claimed that condoms contained HIV (influenced by Catholic opposition to birth control).
In my opinion, "faith" obscures, the beautiful, complex reality we live in by asking people to settle for small, ancient myths. Just by studying the origins of the earth, we've already shown the fallacies in virtually every religious creation myth before Darwin, assuming they were meant to be taken literally.
Seriously, reality is better than the fable.

Science has experimentation, research and years of accumulated knowledge.
You have a book.
You prove your right?

Why do we need to prove your imaginary friend doesn't exist. Seems to me if you want me to buy into YOUR fantasies you need to prove YOUR claims aren't make believe. I can prove all my claims to ant reasonable person, you can't.

Human knowledge has not reached that stage.
In the meantime people invent gods and demons to hide their ignorance.
