No. It was overkill, arranged by racial antagonist Al Sharpton--who briefly got Jesse Jackson involved: Until the "Tawana Brawley" hoax, attached to Sharpton began to surface; Jackson has since distanced himself from the debacle.
The overpouring of BLACK supporters for the Jena 6 was not impressive, nor did it serve any real political purpose to intimidate the Jena DA.
All six accused still face juvenile charges equally serious as the adult ones the DA had dropped.
There was an issue with holding one remaining Jena 6 in jail during the BLACK rally, and he was released---ONLY WHEN HIS BAIL WAS RAISED, not before.
There's way too much damming evidence to find any of the six innocent of the savage act they're accused of having done; the Jena 6 shouldn't get too used to freedom.

Beating someone must not be encouraged with the recent decision releasing a suspect of the wrongdoing in the Jena Case. Justice must be served although the court have discretion to give rehabilitation since the culprit was a minor.

As one of my best friends said, (who by the way is black) How would the black community have reacted if it had been 6 whites on one black, beating him and putting him in the hospital??? The would have said they (the white boys) got what they deserved! That it was a hate crime and racially motivated. Jesse and Al would have both been there leading that march!
He said "Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are racial pimps, that use the black communities ignorance for their own political and financial gain!
Nuff said!

No - but agitators like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton relish pulling out the race card and getting their faces in the media. They just can't help themselves.

yes, whether black or white they should not be put in an adult prison. They would be considered fresh meat, raped and beaten. that would be turning any one person into a beast and a menace to society, mentally and emotionally unfit when released. if u give them felonies, that should make them see that they made the wrong choice. they still should do some time in jail though. my ex. kidnapped, strangled and beat me in the face, almost killing me, he only served 8 mths out of 2 years.
