1. To learn another language is to help understand the culture and history behind the language and its people. It also serves as a bridge between different nationalities. People appreciate it if you take the time and effort to learn their language.

2. Pragmatically, it looks good on a resume. A lot of employers are looking for people who can speak more than one language, especially Spanish and Mandarin.

3. It deepens your appreciation and knowledge of your first language, and makes learning additional languages easier. Studies have proven that very young children taught a second language along with their first language not only retain their biluguality (with continued reinforcement) but can pick up additional languages -- even when older -- far more easily.

Well in wales you can experience two cultures there for speaking another language helps you feel part of the community especially the welsh speaking communities. In wales everybody must learn welsh and because of that our national language is seen as a tool for a good coreer in wales there for learning another languages basically opens up the door and for me it was learning english i mean look now I can go on yahoo answers if i couldn't speak english i wuldnt be here comenting now .

There need to be many am definite, however the first matters that come to my brain is that by way of realizing distinct language, you would be in a position to recognize & combine with the locals.This is primarily priceless, if you're a vacationer.You may not get ripped off. Another priceless factor is that if folks have been to abuse or speak approximately you in another language, you would be in a position to recognize :)

Oh there are many benefits...
- you can keep up with other cultures
- it makes you smarter, it's actually good for your brain
- it helps with business and would look good on a resume
- there are many other people who you could speak to by learning a language
- better for travel
- ability to help others
- it's fun
- it could come in handy one day

It greatly inclreases the ways in which your brain connects things together. It applies many more viewpoints.

People who know more languages have less chance of senility.

I like to be able to speak the two languages I do to people who don't speak English, it usually kights up their face and mkes their day, somrtimes I like to just listen to people talking like my Grandma did.
