How can one take religion seriously when you have something like Scientology with million of followers, can you imagine the number of followers in thousands of years. Holy molly.

Maybe Christianity thousands of years ago was the Scientology of today, who knows? If sicentology can drew up millions of followers in this time period, its makes you wonder does it not?

I do belive in GOD by the way.

Don't quote scripture, because scripture means nothing to a nun believer its like me quoting Darwin to you guys.

Religion and religious books such as the Bible etc are man made. God is outside of religious nonsense, thankfully.

Actually you make a very good point about today's established religions being yesterday's cults. Christian Science is fairly mainstream these days (depending on who you ask), but was quite the cult in the early 1900's. In the first century AD, the Essenes (the cult from which Christianity more or less sprang, and who we have to thank for the Dead Sea Scrolls, as I recall), were pretty "out there". It's kind of fun to think of what Scientology will look like in 100 years. But I'm sure that wasn't your point.

Dunno the answer to your question...

Good luck!

Religions are the traditions of man and not God. If it was man made, how do you explain the signs and miracles that happen and are described in the bible, when you follow the word of God. These things actually happen, only when show your faith and obedience in God.

Do you believe in God with your lips or with your heart?

DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)

There are divine laws, divine truths, even eternal values. Human beings have mixed their social mores and taboos with religions for all of human history. So, relgion contains much of both - human evolutionary social and cultural values as well as eternal truths and values. It continues even still. There are also narratives about early Christianity in this same book. It was not the same as Scientology.

God is real, but many versions of "god" are no more than manifestations of man's imagination as it sought to explain certain phenomenon that was neither God nor of God. Check out the papers in the links above. It's too much to reprint here. Enjoy...

I believe it is the word of God because

1.) havent you been noticing alot of the signs of the End Times popping up?? I'm sure the signs just wernt a good guess

2.) todays Scientology came from our Holy Bible

3.) ever heard of demon possesion? yeah, it's real, and alot of victims have been delivered from it through a Christian exorcism.

and 4.) you believe in God, right? He makes you happy, doesnt he? that happiness isnt just an illusion

speaking of you believing in Him, if it's what you believe, thats all that matters!

As a Christian, I believe the Bible is the word of God and God's revelation to mankind so to say that I can't quote the Bible is nonsense. The Bible says that we know the truth about God but we have supressed that truth and made up lies about God in order to make ourselves not accountable. I believe there is a little bit of truth in every religion , thats why its so dangerous. Christianity sets it self apart from religion in that religion is man's attempt to reach to God by good deeds, while Christianity is God reaching to man by grace and mercy. We believe in doing good deeds but doing good deeds will not earn our way into heaven.

The Bible is God's word. Religion is what man makes of it. Some branches of Christianity still teach the Bible as the word of God and some do not.

If you have faith, it is the word of God, you do not need physical proof-that's what faith is all about. Or religion, on the other hand, is something contrived by man to reason what purpose he has here and where he is going. Both sides are argueable. I believe in the word of God myself.

Religion is man made, read the Holy Bible for yourself if you want to be sure of the truth. I suggest you get a New Living translation, it is written in plain modern English.

I think its a bit of both...religion has in it some basic tenents of God's character and attributes....but the organizations themselves are just businesses.
