Well, let's see: I dated a Mormon girl for a few months, I have talked with two different sets of Mormon Elders, I've been involved in a very intense discussion of several hours with a Mormon Elder and a Catholic Chaplin's Assistant, I roomed for one quarter at college with a Mormon family and had several discussions with the father and mother of that family, I own a Book of Mormon and Doctrines & Covenents/Pearl of Great Price and have seen how much of the KJV Bible was plagarized and included in these books, I have studied the history of the Mormon Church, I have heard discussions of the beliefs of Mormonson Christian radio programs, including direct discussions between Christians and Mormons. Do you think *I* have had enough exposure to your religion's false doctrines to comment on it and pray for those of you who have been misled by the teachings of Joseph Smith nd Brigham Young?

As a Catholic who is somewhat knowledgeable of the LDS church, allow me to share some of my personal beefs with the LDS faith.
1) The belief in 3 levels of heaven: I am sorry, that clashes greatly with the parable of the land owner (see Matt. 20:1-16)
2) I disagree with people who say that Joseph Smith is the greatest man to ever live, besides Christ, since that title is bestowed upon John the Baptist (see Matt. 11:11)
3) I can understand the logic, but holding the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and the Doctrine and Covenants above the Bible due to "potential errors in translation" just rubs me the wrong way.
I apologize if I have any of my information wrong, but this is how it has been explained to me, both by me friend and from various pro and con LDS websites. I hope this furthers your understanding on why some people mock the LDS faith, but remember, in the words of Our Lord
11 Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake:
12 Be glad and rejoice for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you. (Matt. 5:11-12)

How about that. How can you tell if the person who answers a question is a Mormon or not? Now that I have answered this question... in your opinion... am I a Mormon?

I am Baptist but I have studied Mormonism in classes at my church, and Mormons are considered to be a cult by us. A sign of a cult is the use of holy books other than or in addition to the Bible.

Thank you!
And why do people bash other people's faiths. That is cruel!
OREGON FLOWER- LIving in Utah does not make you a Mormon expert. Let go of your hate. AND I seriously doubt you would know more truth about MY church that a person fresh out of the font.

Do you promise to do the same thing, then?
EDIT - No assuming needed. I looked at the questions she answered. Or is she a medical professional that can decipher early ultrasounds and be positive of the sex of the child? Just an example.

I am not LDS, but I agree that people would do well only to address questions about which they have some knowledge. Conjecture and sarcasm only produce confusion, and are counterproductive to the objectives of the site, in my opinion.

Ah, but they think that they know the facts. Or, they know that they don't but they say whatever they want anyways, with the express intent to confuse and belittle. Pay those such people no mind. I agree that people should not spew for things as if they are facts, when they are not.

Get off ended hinders make it to the end alive unto God.
