How do people get so crazy that they are willing to die for something that sounds so crazy and clearly has no proof at all?
Oh.....wait.....that sounds kinda like the Muslims and Christians too.

Gosh glenda, that was a spiteful and hateful thing to say. In my experience, only certain people are capable of such venom....are you, perhaps, a christian?

People die to steal a few bucks from a bank too.

If they are atheists can I blame atheism for that?

There are fanatics in all groups.

Dying for a cause and killing for a cause are 2 very different things.

Those people were so crazy! You have to admit, that's way crazier than Islam or Christianity. But if your going to believe something without any proof, why not make it as crazy as it can get?

haha!! a leader named "Do" at least Christians have Jesus and Muslims have Muhammad. Those sound authoritative at any rate.

I mean, come on! "The only way to heaven is aboard a space ship" is a lot worse than "the only way to heaven is by loving people" or "the only way to heaven is by blowing people up"

Cults like those were basically for people who thought they had no meaning to their lives.
They want to believe in something, but often times choose the wrong group. The people in Heaven's Gate were brainwashed into believing they would enter Heaven if they killed themselves.

Suicide is a sin in most religions.

All of this is an opinion btw.

people want to put their faith in someone/something, but they also have this certitude that they are right or have the right and only answers to the universe. It has started many a religion/cult and ends a good many of them as well. What happens when someone else crowds our followers? kill or convert them; what happens when our prophesies dont come true? change them or make-believe that they, in fact, have come true and that we must now all die at the appointed hour to achieve victory.YAY?!?!?!?

It's the king of manifesto questions.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Listen Belichicky,

Don't classify me as a Whacko.

Heaven's gate people, waco texas crowd, muslims they are all decieved into believe many falsehoods and living according to foolish laws.

'Christians have a leader that lived what He taught. The Lord Jesus is awesome and if people take Christianity and do dumb things in His name, it's not His fault

There are many sinners in this world, on that day, who will say Lord, Lord (to Him) Did we do this and that in your name?' He'll say "Depart from Me, I never knew you."

It is your right to think I am stupid because I would die for my beliefs. Are you going to be the one that holds the axe to my throat? Highly unlikely. Since I respect your right to an opinion, why not respect ours in return?

I saw a question on here that was basically "Would you die for Jesus?" The sheer number of "yes" answers dumbfounded me. I was shocked and deeply disturbed.
