I think it is a cult that must be making a lot of $$$$ of the brainless celebrities that believe in that crap. It's a shame Tom Cruise is against psych drugs, if he took them he no longer would need to give up his money and time to aliens.

I wont try to convince you it is not.
If you sell a product and it doesn't do as advertise it is a scam.
Scientologist believe that Scientology helps them and they are happy with their investment and the return on their investment. If it don't do as advertise there wouldn't be no customers.
I believe that Scientology works and I'm a happy costumer. That's all.
And if millions of happy and sucessfull Scientologist don't change your mind nothing will.
Maybe you should spend you money in some Prozac. Psychiatrist believe it works.
For me that's a scam.

Compared to what? Are you an atheist? Because if you arent then that would be a fun comparison Im sure.
I tried it for abit then left. I also tried the baptists for a couple of years. lets compare...
Baptists: 10% of your earnings as a lower member
Scie: flat rates per course comparable to a college course
Baptists: very pushy about some fairly strange beliefs
Scie: didnt hear any, even at the sunday services
Baptists: really poked into my personal life
Scie: not much but did to some (see next note)
Baptists: mostly ignored major things like felons, drug users, old guys with underage girlfriends/boyfriends, wife beaters, whatever as long as they attended church and gave money
Scie: kicked them out
Baptists: getting to the top of the religion involves giving up all your worldly goods (to become a priest)
Scie: still a flat rate altho more than I would pay
Baptists: leaving got me phone calls, visits, name claling, and general pestering to come back
Scie: I dont remember getting much of anything when I quit
But just dont take my word for it. Be sure to check out knowledgeable sources like people who never went in a Scie center but post huge lists of strange sites, or youtube links, or definetly South Park :) Now Im not trying to preach it. I dont think its for everyone. I just have a problem with the amount of "informed" **** that floats into these questions.

What's WITH all these Scientology questions tonight? My fingers are exhausted from typing...
I know a ton of Scientologists, and they don't do the "pay for mythology" thing. Most Scientologists don't. It's just a few people who are REALLY into the Church of Scientology.
And for the record, the CoS is a little bit off its rocker, I'll admit. Just don't blame the followers- they had nothing to do with it.

Why are you asking this question?
This is just an unfounded accusation against a religion disguised as a question.
Unless you personally need some assuranced from others that you are right in your fixed, uniformed, ignorant attitude.
Fear not, there's plenty more religious intolerance you can stir up here on R&S. It's a major pass time on here!!
Knock yourself out!!!
At least it keeps you off the streets, upsetting your neighbors etc.

It is a lucrative business for its creators, who have been TRYING (unsuccessfully) to pass themselves off as a religion to avoid paying taxes like any other business. They owe millions in back taxes and fraud charges for what they have done to the innocent and the gullible. Check out the court records in the states they work in and you will see that even their pricey well-known fleet of lawyers have failed to meet religious exemption laws or defend and exonerate themselves much less extricate themselves from the federal fraud and racketeering charges they have been fighting.
It is a business scam for the gullible.
