I just got a P.O. Box, and I wanted to know if you have to include your name in the address in order to recieve it? I thought you could just put the P.O. Box number, city, state, and zip, but I'm not sure. This is probably a stupid question lol. Sorry in advance, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :D

Well think about it. Why would you have to put a name there? Do you have to put a name on your mail to have it delivered to your house or is the number enough.

Try mailing yourself something to make sure.

Years ago when we first got our national zipcodes I was informed that the zipcode contained information about the city and state. I wondered why I still needed to put the city and state in the address. So I tried sending a letter from another city back to my home and used only the street address and zipcode. My letter arrived with no problem.

No. As long as all other information is included. Mail is sorted from bottom to top in this order, zip, state, city, and then PO box or street address. There is no need for names really unless an address is shared by more than one person.

Absolutely you need to. No matter you had written the P.O. Box number, city, state and zip code, to avoid mistake for the real person to receive it (esp if that person lives with a family).

No you don't. But if someone were to send you something and they had the wrong box number there would be no way for the post office to catch that. It would just go to that wrong box.

No, it's not a stupid question. You do need to include your name in your address, to make sure you get your mail. :)

of course you need to put your name so that the mail man will know whom he will give the letter.
