its a myth... youll burn off the calories and digest the food either way wether it happens at 8 pm or 3 am....
generally it is said not to do that becuase you arent active much at night and people think if you eat before bed you wont burn it off and it will jsut turn into fat on your body, but your body uses stored energy so when you wanke up and start being active youre going to burn calories anyhow

not really 7 pm , its just 3 hours before bed ... and it works really well! espicially if you get a good rest .. like 7 hours of sleep.
for me - i don eat 3 hours before bed; so by then im on an empty stomach but not starving ; and i can do situps and feel them so well and go to bed to rest the abs.
it helps u lose weight and your body digests better , also u sleep better when ur satisfied rather than so full

Because your body begins to rid itself of toxic and harmful material present in the food you ate and environment you lived in the hours before. Without this stage... well, say bye bye to good health. (If you ever had it to begin with.)
At 7:00PM,- unless you simply haven't had anything to eat before this,- you should ingest nothing but water, no-caffeine (but unaltered) herbal tea, unpasteurized fruit and vegie juices, etc. Light things that don't require digestion energy. Most people feel like ****, even with 10 hours of sleep. Why? Well, one reason is because digestion occurs during 6-7/10 of those hours. Sad, but true... Get quality sleep.
Another thing that will have you waking up in the morning with a great outlook on the day to come: Bring a full glass (or bottle) of water with you to bed and, if you wake up during the night, use the bathroom or whatever you need to do and then drink that glass of water or whatever you can handle out of a bottle of water. This is vital for someone who doesn't want to eat like I do (all greens, fruits, etc). In other words, if you don't eat like a health fanatic, you have to do a couple of extra things to keep healthy. Drinking a lot of water or herbal tea is one example.

u should never eat 3 hours prior to when u go to bed, typically this falls around 10 or 11 p.m.
reason being is that it gives ur body enough time to digest the food before you shut down for the night. while we sleep we only burn enough calories to basically keep our bodies breathing and heart beating. since u are not moving around u burn waaay less calories when u go to sleep. therefore, if u eat a bunch of food and sleep with it, you will probably gain weight.

its old wifes tales - not true.
its actually quite opposite - if you are hungry - eat. as long as you dont consume more calories than spend during the day you are not gona gain weight.
body goes into a little starvation mode at night so not eating after 7pm is only making it worse (longer).

It's a myth that people shouldn't eat after a certain time at night. The summation of the food of the day matters more.
