You are absolutely right that we are responsible for our actions, and "the devil made me do it" is not an acceptable excuse. But make no mistake about it, Satan does exist. His role is to deceive and lie and manipulate, but he cannot directly cause a person to do something. Here is a question in return to put things into perspective: Say you have two friends are arguing, and they tell you to pick a side. One friend says they will still be your friend no matter what side of the argument you are on, and the other says that if you don't choose their side they won't be your friend anymore. If you pick that friend's side, and the other asks you why, will you tell them that your friend made you do it? No, because it was your decision. Now, you can say that the other friend tempted you, and put you in a hard spot. This is parallel to Satan's role in human life. But thanks and glory be to God and His Son Christ Jesus, that we are able to resist because of His eternal mercy.
"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothes in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." - Revelation 3:5

Actually, yes he does. Satan stands behind the lectern and tells people that God, Jesus, and the Devil are all part of a silly superstition from an era that people didn't use their noggins.

Oh do say...
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Christians do not recognize Satan as even remotely deity. He is simply a created being, and angel. But you are correct that we are responsible for our actions, thoughts, words, etc. and answerable to God directly.

Noone claims that satan makes them do anything. He just tempts humanity. People are responsible for their own actions with or without satan.

Having seen several of your web post you strike me as a very angry person and that to me is proof that Satan does exist. Why would you be so angry at things you clearly don't believe in?

Well, I think that Satan puts you in situations, but how you respond to the situation is entirely up to you...
"The Devil made me do it" is just total tosh.
