I don't normally respond to moronic trolls, but here's a list of my celebration days:

New Year's Day
birthdays (Mine, my kids', my parents, ...)
anniversaries of varous kinds
Memorial Day
July 4th
Thanksgiving (but not to any deity)
Veteran's Day
graduation days
Opening Day of Trout Season, Dove Season, ...

and so on. So, no. I see absolutely no need for religion and its fairy tales.

Now, troll, be gone.

This is one of those oh so irritating questions I just don't get. I'm not an atheist, but how much intelligence does it take to know that just because you don't believe in a deity, you don't celebrate special days. Birthdays, Valentines, Thanksgiving, or any other day they feel like celebrating, including Christmas and Easter.

Every day is worth celebrating.

But for a less trite answer... I celebrate any day I bloody well feel like celebrating. That includes Christmas, Easter (if there are kids around to hunt eggs with), New Year's, The 4th of July, Halloween, Valentine's, St. Patrick's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and so on and so forth. Oh, and birthdays/anniversaries.

Sadly, I normally end up having to "celebrate" at work. Such is the life of a waitress. *sigh*

Just days like Valentine's Day, Canada Day, the 4th of July. Things like that. Some celebrate Christmas as a time of family togetherness and spreading happiness and Easter as a celebration of the spring.

But as mentioned before, every day that we are alive is a day to celebrate. Carpe diem! No I don't celebrate 9/11, I'm not American and it is not something to celebrate.

No I do not see the importance of religion. Nice try but stop trying to convert people.

Atheism isn't a religion. It's simply the opposite of theism. Theism is the word that means belief in a god or gods. Atheism is the lack of such belief. So it's not like atheists would have atheistic holidays.

But most atheists celebrate the usual christian holidays like Christmas and Easter because "everyone" in the US celebrates them unless they are Jewish or Muslim or something. As an atheist, Christmas (to me) is about family, presents, pine trees, wreaths, snowmen, Santa Claus, reindeer, elves, fireplaces and all that. Easter is about Easter baskets, candy, colored eggs, and the eater bunny.

Well, since christmas has even become a hallmark greed fest, do you have real celibration days? I celebrate my birthday, valentines, halloween, turkey day, x-mas (yes, xmas , theres no christ in that anymore and if you say there is you are even more deluded than before) 4th of july, and days my job gives me off like martin luther king jr day, labor/memorial day, easter, etc etc.

no, i dont see why we would need religion. If there wasnt a religious reason to get out of work i trust hallmark wouldve invented more stuff to take its place. In ky they let us out for derby, celibrations and holidays are relitive.

I take great pride in celebrating American holidays. The fourth of July ain't a religious holiday and I celebrate it. That's my favorite holiday.

I usually celebrate the Pagan holidays, but without the deity connection.

Nahh they celebrate Christian days like Christmas and Easter. They just don't get the enjoyment of the real meaning, but they still take part in the celebration. It's really sad that they miss so much of real life!

God bless you!
