There are lots of writings from before moses, where do you think they got a lot of their ideas?
There is so much in the tanak/old testament that is borrowed from other cultures and a lot of what is not borrowed from other cultures is there to refute other cultures writings.
The opening lines of the enuma elish (Babylonian creation myth) are "when on high"
The properly translated opening lines of genesis are "when in the beginning" . The flood story in the tanak is another excellent example of borrowing of cross cultural ideas, except in the epic of Gilgamesh the story is almost believable.

Gen 2:4 This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time of their being created, in the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.
Gen 5:1 This is the book of Adam’s history. In the day of God’s creating Adam he made him in the likeness of God.
Moses compiled these histories form sources known to him.
These were not just oral traditions, they could have included records kept be Shem, Noah's son.

There were books written before moses, and a hell of alot more gospels written. Unfortuanltly they were all destroyed.
This pertains more to the new testament, but the Bible was specifically tailored to include the books that solidified Jesus as divinity, all those that contradicted it or did not strongly support that concept were destroyed.

I believe Job was written first. Anyway, people wrote when God told them to, through the Holy Spirit.

Did not know that Moses wrote any books.I don't think he did write the books everybody refers to.How come He then wrote them in the third tense? And how did He write about how he died and then even knows that his grave was never found.

Back then you couldn't just walk to the corner store and buy paper and write something
Moses (and people of wealth) had access to whatever their version of paper was at the time

Uh they did his name was Enoch...Noah's great great grandfather. He was the first to ever write anything or teach. It is my opinion he is the one that brought the law to Moses.

I think there was a lot written but if it was all in one book that would be one very very large book.
A lot would probably be repetitive, too.
