According to the Bible they should, an earthly marriage is a representation of Christ and the Church his bride, I wonder how many actually get married. Sometimes I believe people just say they are atheists because of something that happened in the church some time ago that offended them and they are still carring around that anger and bitterness. Jesus wants us to let the things of this world go and reach for the treasures of the next world, doesn't the Bible say that life is like a vapour that lasts for a little while then vanishes away. Eternity is for a long time, and the Bible says the devil with be will all who do not believe. Yikes!!!

Marriage is a legal thing don't need a priest to marry a couple as long as it is legitimate and the papers are legitimate as well. The use of having a priest to marry couples isn't even required not to mention it's not really used in may states justice of the peace are authorized to conduct the ceremony. Surprisingly atheists have a lower divorce rate.

WHY is this question ebing asked EVERY night this week???
Can't you look up the answers from before? that's what the discover option is about, after all.
Marriage is a LEGAL institution, not a religious one for a lot of people. they don't ask you at the licensing office what your religion is - they don't care.
Of course atheists can marry - each other, christians, muslims, agnostics, wiccan, hindus, animists, buddhists - but not goats.

Yes, atheists can get married. It's their right. After all, if it really works out that there is a God that they don't believe in, they will need someone to spend eternity with in Hell. If not, they'll die and that's it. I think I would rather die and be disappointed that there is no God and no Hell than to die and find out there IS. Just my opinion.

ACTUALLY marriage was a political transaction.. a way to make sure rich people stayed rich.. It had nothing to do with religion.. So yes I am married my law.. I have a little paper that says me+ him = forever..
Churches wont marry you or let you be in a wedding, or a god parent if you dont belong to that church and havent had the sunday school stuff.

o.O Why the heck should we not be able to get married? Marriage isn't required for religion. (I'm a bit surprised this question is being asked) We're people too, with every right to get married!

Anyone can get married - religion has nothing to with that. Religion is only involved if one wishes it to be - it is a choice not a pre-requisite.
