I do not eat meat, merely because i don't like it much. However, i do not replace it with anything. . . what can be the health effects of this?

You don't need meat. Meat will cause clogged arteries, high blood pressure and kidney problems later in life.

If you're a strict vegan or a fruitarian, you'll have to be sure to get enough protein and vitamin B-12. You can get protein from beans and nuts, and lesser amounts from non-sweet fruit like bell peppers, tomatoes and avocados. Avocados have healthful fats which will help you absorb fat-soluble nutrients from the other foods.

If you're more flexible, and if you're willing to consume dairy products, you might want to regularly eat some plain fat-free yogurt. That's a good source of protein, B-12 and calcium, as well as good intestinal bacteria. You can always add fruit like strawberries and bananas to make the yogurt taste sweeter.

You're on the right track. Both my sons have been lacto-vegetarians since infancy, and they are extremely healthy. Good luck!

If you combine a grain like whole wheat with beans, you are getting a complete plant protein with most of the same complete proteins found in meat. If you go vegetarian you do need to make sure you are getting those nutrients elsewhere by not eating processed foods (anything boxed or canned) and stick to whole foods and whole grains. If you do this, you should be fine.

You would probably get pretty weak but you'd get stuff from other foods.
