Mosquitoes have an anticoagulant in their salivia, so when you flex and increase blood flow to the mosquito they engorge themselves and die. But they don't necessarily explode.

What will expode - the mosquito or your arm? The answer is neither. Mosquitoes carry the plasmodium parasite (Anopheles mosquito) which can cause malaria (or they may carry other diseases such as yellow fever (Culex mosquito) or dengue fever (Aedes mosquito). The only thing that happens if you squash a mosquito is that blood comes out of its body - blood that it had sucked through its proboscis from you or someone else!!

Heck no! LOL Funny story though. A mosquito bite swells up as a red mark because some people have an allergic reaction to the bite. that's all

It won't explode. she is just trying to worry you, like the brother of a friend who told her that if you put a penny on rail road tracks it will derail the train - it won't!
