Do you believe that a gas station attendant's son deserves the same health care coverage as the son of an investment banker? Be honest :)

The context of the discussion was a response to Michael Moore's documentary "Sicko." Yes, I believe everyone should have the same health care. What I'm confused about is, if everyone agrees with me and Oprah then why doesn't anything happen? There must be the people in authority that are lying about what they believe.

I believe everyone should have equal access to health care - no matter what their job or class. Health care is a fundamental and basic right - and I get so angry when I hear that some people are dying because they can't afford the same care as someone else.
Why should the rich get the most expensive doctors and the most expensive treatments? And for that matter, why is it that health care is all about the dollars? How can people just stand there and watch someone go through misery and death over the cost of something that should be available to us all?
I like the idea of the Canadian health system. No insurance, everyone gets the health care they need, and no one unreasonably suffers because they can't afford to get the care they need.

That was an interesting show, It was good to hear about some of the other forms of socialist health care, the lady from Scotland, and the one from Canada who had just moved to the states. Of course all people should get the same consideration for health care, just as all people should have equal rights, adiquate food and shelter. But we live in an imperfect world no matter what country we are in. In America votes are supposed to count too, ask Al Gore about that one. Untill enough people make a big enough noise, things don't change. And even when things do change, unfortunately it is such an extremely slow proccess.

I Think:
1. All Doc's should Study to Show ThemSelves Approved
2. All People in America should be Able to See a Doc.
3. All People in America should be Free to Choose the Doc they want to See
4. Unless they cannot Afford to Pay the Doc.
I don't know Much About Health Care Coverage.

It's not about deserving something. That's not how life works and most of us in our saner moments know that. I wish I had heard the context surrounding her posing of this particular question.

Sure, and I wonder if this is part of her Obama pitch. Which is her prerogative. Of course she practically makes as much per year as America's entire health care budget, ha ha.

Yes. Because the Americans are far more concerned with personal cash flow.
