I am a 35 year old women. i'm 5'5" and 150 pounds. i am a little active, but I don't know how much calories i should take in each day, so i do not know how to control my weight. how many calories do you think i should take in each day?

find "daily calorie intake calculator" on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to lose/maintain/gain weight. there are so many of them - compare several because results vary a little.

According to the BMR calculator (http://www.internetfitness.com/calculators/bmr.htm) you have to eat about 1450 cal a day to maintain your weight (assuming no activity). If you want to lose weight I would limit your calories to 1300-1500 calories a day and step up your activity/exercise.
