Murder is a mortal sin.

That being said, I do not support the war in Iraq. But killing in battle is completely different and is not always murder. There are certain laws that apply while in war. I am not a theologian so I cannot explain them to you.

Self defense is not murder either. So taking someone's life is not always immoral, especially if you do it to protect another's life.

Murder is wrong.

The Troups are doing the job they were trained for. IF anyone's at fault for the actions of the Troups in Iraq, it's the lying Pollies that put them there.

Murder is wrong but, Jesus made the statement that sometimes you have to cut off the thumb to save the hand.
I support the troops because thet are fighting for our freedom. How are they fighting for our freedom in Iraq? If you keep the battle over there, it keeps our enemies away from us. We need to stay and finish the job or they will just regroup and we will have to do it again

By the way... our troops stayed in Belin, Germany until the wall came down. Do you think that was worth it? Please support your troops...they are fighting to keep your freedom

Are you OK? did you hurt yourself twisting that logic around.
Get your defination of murder correct.
I support the troops work in Iraq. They were not sent there to go on a killing mission. Unlike you killing the english language with your twisted defination of murder.
You have an opinion that the troops in Iraq is wrong. Thats fine with me if you believe that. But don't hurt yourself trying to use words that are not true to the nature of the mission. The mission is not to kill, although the mission is not to be sitting ducks either. The mission was to remove a form of government that was murderous to its own people because of tribal disputes. The mission is for a change of govenment that allows the people to choose for themselves who shall lead them and that they can at least change the leadership every 4 years to allow the country to move forward in a democratic process.

I support the troops, I also know how to spell the word.

Really though, I support the warrior, but not the war.

There is the Biblical Commandment, "Thou shalt not kill"...however, in some interpretations it is "Thou shalt not murder". Killing a person and murder are different.

All murder is killing, but not all killing is murder. Murder is the unlawful/immoral taking of a life, which malice and forethought.

Killing is causing the death of someone, usually intentionally or knowingly, or accidentally, or in defense of oneself or others.

Yes, it my argument can be considered rhetoric and semantics, but everyone has their own conception of killing and/or murder. It is not just a legal term and concept, but a moral one. (i.e. abortion, death penalty, war, etc.).

Just remember, everyone has their own values and judgment, and there can't be any definitive answer to this question. This is just my opinion.

Morality stops at the point of a gun. In war all is permitted because war and violence are defined as the abandonment of reason.

There can be no violence and no war among reasoning people. When a thug breaks into your house to steal and murder, can you use reason with any successful result?

There is murder for aggression and there is murder in self-defense. Do you see a difference between the two?

One individual killing another inocent individual is wrong. Troops who are part of a government force in a combat situation are not murdering anyone. The Bible teaches that God uses human governments to bring judgment upon evil doers like Sadaam Hussein who gassed his own people, had death squads and whose sons were rapists and murderers operating under their father's protection.

Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.

Murder is wrong but war is war and sometimes that means that you have to kill in order to not be killed. That is more like self preservation than out and out murder. I don't go around murdering people but if I had to go and defend my Country, my family and the things I hold dear to me, I would kill. (and do I support the troops work in Iraq? You had better believe it. They are defending us honorably and I have nothing but respect for them. They are courageous and our doing a tremendous job by serving their Country and defending our freedoms. God bless our soldiers and God Bless America!!)

It depends on the situation-soldiers and police being shot at kill and it is not considered murder. Webster states murder as willful unlawful killing. Certain times of war and self defense it is not unlawful.
