The KJV is a little more correct here I believe.
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (Ephesians 1:17)
The knowledge spoken here is a Gift of Revelation from the Father. And it is more than faith, because you have to FIRST have faith to recieve revelation.
Faith is what you exercise to receive revelation, and that goes further and becomes spiritual knowlege.

Accurate knowledge first and foremost. "Garbage in garbage out" doesn't apply to just computers. Without a good foundation of accurate knowledge, any faith will fail.
Once we have that accurate knowledge, we should train our hearts to be one with God. Then when faced with decisions, our trained heart will consider Jehovah's views on the matter automatically.
With those two things done, our emotions will begin to conform to our new live choice. We will hate what is bad in God's eyes and love what is good.

Real faith is most certainly something that comes from our heart. It does not have anything to do with emotions. And of course you must have knowledge, before you can have faith. For if you have no knowledge, how can you have faith in anything or in any one. When it comes to having faith in God, we must first know God, and know what his Holy Word says to us. If we do not know what the Holy Word says, how can we have faith in it? When the Word of God tells us that the heart is treacherous than anything else, I believe that it is speaking of the fleshly aspect; not about the spiritual aspect of the heart. For if we have the Spirit of God in our heart, or our soul, He will most certainly never lead us to do wrong things. But if we do not have Jesus Christ in our heart as our personal Savior, our heart will have only the things of the world in it. Our heart will be cleansed purer than snow, when we are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. Where before, our heart only contained dirty and unrighteous things within it.

Real faith is not a heart condition, but a heart conviction. Real faith will not allow you to move regardless of circumstances. Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart man believethunto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." I didn't say that, the WORD says that. Meaning that the heart condition can be transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Faith should be based on some kind of knowledge or evidence because otherwise it begs the question of: Why have faith in whatever it that you have faith in?
If you have faith in a particular religion without any significant reasoning behind your belief, then why not have faith in any thing? Why not have faith in White Supremacy? Why not have faith that earth is flat? Why not have faith that your car has a conscious mind? Blind faith is kind of silly to have, when you think about it like that. Therefore, I say: real faith should be based on some kind of evidence and/or reasoning that leads you to believe that the thing you have faith in is actually true.

He said to pray for the truth or wisdom. Ask and it shall be given you. But like anything else that takes effort on our part to read the bible and study it and know when the truth comes by and what is a lie. Because Satan is out there spreading lies also. so the way we recognize the truth is by knowing what the bible actually says.
