There are not so many branches of it. There is one true religion that Christ founded. The Catholic Church. He appointed St. Peter as the first pope, "Upon this rock, I build my Church." All the apostles were both priests and then bishops. They all consecrated other priests. Masses were said, communion was given to the people. Catholicism/Christianity (same thing) was taught to many nations.

Then along came the proud and foolish (i.e. Luther, King Henry VIII, Joseph Smith, etc.) All these men claimed that Christ had erred and that only THEY knew the REAL religion and it wasn't what Christ had taught. Many people followed them because their heresy was much easier to follow than Christianity (i.e. they could divorce, didn't have to go to mass, didn't have believe in certain things).

All these Protestant (religions that protest Catholicism) religions are false and not a single one of them could lead a man to heaven. Only through the Church that Christ founded can one find his salvation.

Good question! If Jesus actually existed, none of the various sects established in his name has any real relationship to him because he was long dead (or resurrected?) before the original Christian church in Rome was established. The first Protestant denominations were departures from Roman Catholicism and later from other Protestant sects (often for political reasons, particularly in the case of the Anglican church created by Henry VIII in order that he might divorce Catherine of Aragon and marry Anne Boleyn, et al.). Each Protestant church had at its conception a "prophet" of some sort who was charismatic and persuaded those to whom he preached to become his followers.
As to the second part of your question, each religion claims to be in possession of the "Truth", thus denies all others and attempts to convince (often through coercion or force) the "Infidels" to abandon the "errors of their ways" and convert to the "true faith". As you can observe by the civil war in Iraq, even members of various sects of the same essential religion can not disagree peacefully. Since time immemorial the people of Earth have endeavored to resolve their differences through violence; religiosity is simply another excuse for fighting!

Each have it's own ways of interpretation of the doctrine, with the motive of getting their followers to believe that it is right.
Most of them are add their own interest for their version of worshiping. They are all hypocrites and contradicts the teaching of Christ. Sad to say, because coming from a Christian that was save through one of them. I have to be against the very Church that I was save. Just like rescuing the dog, instead of being grate full it turn around and bite those that help. A situation I wish I could turn a blind eye and toe the line.

All do things in the name of the Good Lord but all for their own interest or of their member. All those you mention are in solid foundation, strong and is accepted by society. As long as they preach the Holy Kingdom, I think it makes little difference.

May the Wisdom of God prevail.

Edit : That ,my friend, is politics interest not the followers.

They don't believe in the same things...they all have something different. The thing is..they DID branch off from Christianity. But they didn't believe in something Christianity teaches, so they made a different 'Christian' belief. But that doesn't make them Christians, to be a Christian, you have to believe EVERYTHING in the Bible. What's the use saying you're a Christian if you only believe parts of the Bible?

The Bible is the word of God. Religion, in this case Christianity, is how we humans interpret the word of God. Different people over the course of history have had different points of view on God's word. Thus, different sects of Christianity were born. I am a Christian, but I don't believe any one sect of Christianity has it 100% correct. Humans make mistakes. God does not.

Interpretative differences. Organizational differences.
I am an Evangelical Christian, but not a fundamentalist. I believe in co-evolution. I do not believe we can legislate morality through the poltical process, so I am not "against" legal abortion clinics.
I am not typical.
I am a free thinker, and have not learned what I know by rote, but through experience and a personal relationship with the Lord.

The ones you named are not "Christians". Christians follow Christ. None of those do. The devil learned a long time ago, that the best way to get followers, is to use a little truth and a little false doctrine and he has deceived millions with his concoctions(catholicism, protestant, baptist, etc.) There is Only one church that Jesus died for. It wears His name because He is the founder of it. It came into existence with His death, just like the Bible says. If you would like to study, please click on my avatar to Email me.

Actually they don't all believe in the same things. Catholicism & Christianity have few but major differences in exactly what it is they believe. It's the same concept though. They do interpret the bible in many different ways too.

Your good judgment is extremely susceptible. you're saying using fact all those guy-made innovations have a potential to be misused and so does faith ergo we won't be able to get rid of technologies so we won't be able to get rid of faith. removing of technologies and technological know-how could have us back interior the midsection an prolonged time the place faith in many situations flourished so i'm specific you're able to certainly % to get rid of them. they have ended in longer and happier lives as nicely as a limiteless and gradually tricky quest for expertise.First , families are a private decision as are drugs and intercourse. those do no longer pass around preaching the tip of the international and forcing their ideologies upon others as faith does. technological know-how isn't a private decision. you won't believe, join its ideology yet you inevitably might desire to apply it. you have used it any time you have gotten ill or maybe concept some technique interior the organic international by way of examining evidence. technologies is an absolute might desire to and helps elongate human lives and the Earth's for that be counted. Peace is in many situations sturdy yet each and every so often we would desire to continually salary conflict on people who attempt to wreck us. faith is the only one that has no valuable outcomes that could no longer get replaced by way of yet another source. It in simple terms leads to myths and dogmatism and this motives human beings to be caught in a stupor they call actuality jointly as technological know-how marches directly to bare the main suitable certainty.
