Go to shutterbug.com. In the Search box type "digital road to infrared". It should pull up the article they (Shutterbug Magazine) ran in March 2006.

I with placing an infrared filter over the lens was enough to produce digital infrareds, but the only cameras that can be switched over from infrared to normal with the switch of a filter is a camera which is using a scanning back.
The thing is with digital cameras, the sensors are actually quite sensitive to infrared light, and a filter is actually placed over the sensor itself to prevent that infrared effect that some photographers like. If you want to shoot infrared digital you typically have to remove this filter, but the problem is that by removing this filter you may end up simply rendering the cameras meter useless or worse, you will end up destroying the camera. There are actually companies that will modify your camera to shoot infrared, but I have never heard of anyone modifying a casio, though I am sure it could probably be done.

There is no such thing as an infrared filter. However, people normally use a red filter when using infrared film (not required, but the pictures come out better. If you don't use the filter they won't have that stereotypical IR look.). It helps to have an IR index on your lens barrel (if you don't have this, you may have to shoot at smaller apertures to increase your chances of having your subjects in focus).

Dont know much about casios but here is what I have heard. Put your camera in live view mode, where you see what the lens see on your lcd screen. Take a TV remote and point it at the camera and click a few buttons. If you see the light from the remote then theres a chance of shooting in IR. If not then move on.

To shoot in IR you would need to have manual control over the shutter and be able to hold it open for a long time. I have never shot IR so you would have to look up the proper procedure.

Your digital camera should be able to take infrared photos. You can buy an infrared filter, but you need to let the camera shutter open for an extended period of time. You will need a tripod. The other way is to take the camera apart, which I know you won't want to do, and remove the infrared filter covering the CCD. It is there to filter out infrared and allow only visible light in. Then the filter you bought will go on the lens and you can take real time infrared photos. A tripod may still be required. If you want more detail, the info is on the Internet
