Probably, but I would dress more like the clerks do, in Old Navy style.Just be yourself, relax and don't b.s. Show interest in the store and merchandise.

Most employers these days, when they are doing an interview, they not only look for experience in the job, but also the interviewee's attitude. Since you have no experience, they'll have to go on your personality alone.
To start, what you plan to wear is fine. It's best to dress nice, although for a job like this, you don't have to wear a suit and tie, but at least look nice and neat. Some would say it's best to wear the merchandise you would be selling (Old Navy clothes) but I disagree. I say, wear what you are comfortable wearing, but not so relaxed that you look like you just rolled out of bed and threw something on. Make sure you are well groomed (shaved, teeth are brushed)
For the interview, just be yourself, and be honest. If they ask you if you have retail experiece, tell them you don't, but express that you want to learn and that you'll do your best at the store with whatever task they give you.
If you have experience with counting money (aside from counting what's in your pocket or bank account) tell them. If you know computers, tell them. Also let them know why you believe you'll be a good assett to the store and company as a whole.
There is one thing to remember though when in an interview. Answer the questions as honestly as possible. When you walk in, take a deep breath then let it out slowly. This will help calm you. Be yourself. Don't try too hard to make them like you. When people do that, they overplay themselves too much. Also, you may be really nervous about the interview, but remember, the person talking to you, is nervous also. Interviews are never easy for everyone involved.
One last thing...the person doing the interview may just want to talk to you for a few minutes, just to get to know you and yoru personality. Don't ramble. Don't start talking about your girlfriend and her former boyfriend (as an example). It looks gossipy. When you are asked a question, answer it in a short, honest answer. Don't give off too much information.
Good luck!

Interview tips:
Always dress one step above the people you will interview with, unless they are wearing a tuxedo. If they wear jeans and torn tee shirts, wear slacks and a button-up shirt without a tie. That's just an example. Don't look too flashy. Shave your whiskers off, even if that beard does make you look like Don Johnson.
Be honest. If you lie you'll have to spend the rest of your days nervous trying to live-up to your lie. If they ask you if you have any retail experience, tell them "no".
They usually ask "Why should I hire you?"
If you can honestly say, "Though I don't have any specific retail experience, I have other experience. I recognize good service. I also recognize bad service. I have ___ years experience of being on time. I have ___ years experience of encouraging people to buy what I'm selling. I have ___ years experience working with difficult people. I have ___ years experience managing my time," you're in good shape.
If you're in good shape, then it's your turn to ask a question. A good one is, "So, I can start today, or would Monday work better for you?"
Then, all you have to do is do your best. You don't have to be perfect... you didn't say you were perfect, you just said you had experience.
Good luck to ya!

What you plan on wearing is fine. Bring the references but only offer them if they ask. If this is your first interview with them they will ask about your work experience, What you know about the company? How you interact with people? Possibly explain a situation and ask how you would handle it. The may also show you examples of what they sell and have you put together an outfit and explain yourself. Be patient and calm, taking your time to fully listen to the questions and thinking your thoughts through before answering. I hope this helps. Good luck on getting the job

That will be fine. Then make sure you are well groomed. Cut your nails to a nice look and make sure they are clean. Breath mint, one of those that disolve in your mouth, right before the interview and smell nice.
Be yourself and avoid answers you think they WANT to hear.
You'll do great a I will be sending good thoughts your way on Tuesday!!!!

It doesn't really matter. I got hired at a restaurant wearing casual clothes. I suggest to dress professional. The way you describe is just fine. It's not like you're applying for management so it's cool to wear casual clothes or professional.

i worked @ the gap..the best thing 2 do is act professionally and stress...STRESS that you are extremely friendly, and customer service oriented...u wanna make it seem like ur all about customer satisfaction so that they have a pleasant experience...it doesnt have 2 be that way once ur hired, but that the kinda stuff they wanna hear...make sure if u shake their hand, u have a firm shake...a weak shake shows a weak personality...look them in the eye...ask questions about growth opportunities (shows u wanna stick around and be ambitious); ask if they have open suggestion policies (shows u wanna be a part of the happenings in the store)...ask questions that seem like u want to REALLY wanna be a part of old navy...(fake the funk until they give u the job, basically)...u cant go wrong..

I would never wear a black shirt and pants to an interview. The pants are fine, but pick a different shirt. You are not going clubbing.
