I think the most important thing you need to do is to participate and be active. It's not just answering questions - it's also asking questions. Keep asking if you don't understand something (but not overly, be reasonable) and they will gladly discuss it. Also, believe it or not, teachers are actual people. Make funny comments out loud in class and don't get on their nerves. You don't have to be the smartest to be the star of the class.

School success is not based on if teachers like you or not.
You are not in school to create a social connection with your teachers.
Schools is based on getting your work and homework done correctly and on time, answering questions in class, making good grades.
Even if you are not an A student, you can do well if the teacher knows that you are trying your best.

Teacher-student relation is sort of a difficult chemistry. The same student behavior gets different reception from different teachers. Anyway all teachers as far as I know take a very positive attitude toward students who HAVE (I didn't say show or pretend to have) a sincere interest in the subject they teach. If you don't like the subjet don't go for the teacher. Serious studing and behavior are usually appreciated. Trying to look smart is not.

Don't start drama and keep out of the drama of others. Get your work in on time and set an example for others by keeping focus on what needs to be done each day.

Work hard and get good grades, and raise your hand to give answers when they ask questions. (Pick your spots -- raise your hand for anything you know the answer for, and they won't call on you when you're clueless.)
