Your fainting (also known as syncope) was due to your fear of needles (belonephobia). Triggered by the sight of the needle, the vasomotor center in your system demanded an increased pumping action by your heart, but due to a low blood volume or because the heart could not meet the demand, not enough is pumped into the brain, causing dizziness, a dimming of vision, and eventually, unconsciousness.

Maybe, because some people, can't stand to see the sight of blood.
