The one referred to in Genesis? Jesus was not belittling her---why would he dishonor his Mother against the Commandment? Catholics do not expect Mary to save them ---they expect Jesus to save them, but they honor their Mother.

He did not rebuke someone for Blessing Mary he simply said that one is not blessed for being a family member but they are blessed by doing the Father's will---which Mary certainly did. He was teaching. Mary did the Fathers will therefore she was blessed. I hope that when all these Mary haters are in front of the Lord and he asks them what they thought of his Mother that he loved dearly, they have the courage to then say to him "Oh Lord, we love you but your Mother---eh? She was really no one and the Father didn't think enough of you to make a sinless Mother for you and we know she was just some sinner woman who was hanging around and was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time so we thank you kindly Lord for this invitation to Heaven and we totally know why we are here but the woman who gave birth to you and nursed you and cared for you we know why she isn't here so"....oooooh I wouldn't want to be in your shoes

Jesus was referring to her mother as the new Eve.
"We believe that the Holy Mother of God, the new Eve, Mother of the Church, continues in heaven to exercise her maternal role on behalf of the members of Christ." - Pope Paul VI

Dear Midge. I hope you're a troll, love. If so, this is a fine question. You see, why would Jesus NEED to refer to his mother as "woman"? Is it not obvious enough that if she is his mother she must be a female? Is your mother a woman? Do you call her that just to prove to anyone that she really is? No? Neither did Jesus. Unless Mary was extremely masculine-appearing and Jesus was attempting to save her from ridicule in front of his posse. That would be very different.

n9wff- When will you GET it, my dear? Catholics do not worship Mary, they simply show great respect for her! Mary is the mother of Jesus, is she not, according to your Bible? You think Jesus is gonna be happy you called his Mom a graven image? No, no n9, he is not. I think your ticket to the rapture just went up in flames.

The name "Woman" was a respectful term in the Aramaic, which was the language spoken by Jesus. It was like saying Madame in french or Milady in Elizabethan English.

Mary was not the only woman Jesus called Woman. An example is John 4:21 where he was addressing the Samaritan woman at the well.

Mary was only a willing vessel to give birth to Jesus but Jesus denied his mother and his brother for not doing the will of God. His mother and his brother did not know who Jesus was all about. Mary was a sinner just like everyone else.

Do you realize that Jesus REBUKED someone for blessing Mary in order to point out that we are to worship the Creator, NOT the created.

"If you want to see what a person's real priorities are, then watch what they do when their life, or the life of a loved one, is in danger. When Pope John Paul II was shot, while the ambulance was rushing him to the hospital, the Pope was not praying to God or calling on the name of Jesus. He kept saying, over and over: "Mary, my mother!" Polish pilgrims placed a picture of Our Lady of Czestochowa on the throne where the Pope normally sat. People gathered around the picture. Vatican loudspeakers broadcasted the prayers of the rosary. When the Pope recovered, he gave Mary all the glory for saving his life, and he made a pilgrimage to Fatima to publicly thank her."

Jesus replaced into tempted with each sin comparable to usual guy and surpassed with flying colours. each time devil tempted Jesus, He replied with Biblical scripture. Jesus drew potential to keep away from temptation from Bible Scripture. Galatians 5:sixteen This I say then, walk interior the Spirit, and ye shall no longer fulfil the lust of the flesh. Jesus constantly walked interior the Spirit. compliment the Lord!

He also addressed Mary Magdeline as "woman".

He did not dishonor his mother, but at the same time, he did not elevate her above humanity, she is not divine, but she is dead.

If Catholics don't expect Mary the mother of Jesus (not the mother of God) to save them, they why do they pray to her? Jesus said to pray to the "Father", not to the mother or any other person. The Bible also says that we are not to add to or take anything from the Bible. Catholics have removes the real second commandment (taking away) and have made tradition equal with the scriptures (adding to.)

If you are talking about Genesis 3:15, the woman is the nation of Israel. Jesus is the descendant of the nation of Israel.

You can understand this better by reading about Joseph's dreams in Genesis 37:9 and Revelation 12:1,2.

I think Jesus called her woman to let everyone know that even though she was His mother, she is just as any woman only blessed because she bore Him. I always thought Catholics had it wrong by causing people to think they worship Mary.

try not making any graven images, yet, Catholics break this Commandment.
Please quote the Holy Mary prayer for all to see. This may bring "enlightenment" why catholics pray to Mary, and not Jesus.

John 14:6 ...no one comes to the Father except through [Jesus].

sorry if Catholics can't follow the Bible they claim they wrote.

Good thought for RCatholics! I heard one time one woman said; beacuse Mary is the Mother of Lord Jesus, so she can intercede for them to be saved! What an imagination anyway?

So, why you need to pray the rosary then? Does it helps you to understand this;
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

And these;
Luk 11:27 And it came to pass, as Lord Jesus spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
Luk 11:28 But Lord Jesus said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Amen.

Does the Holy Words from God even Lord Jesus taught us to worship Mary then? What particular book, and what verse?

And how about these Holy Words from God?
Luk 1:45 And blessed is she that believed for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Luk 1:46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
Luk 1:47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.
Luk 1:48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
Luk 1:49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
Luk 1:50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
