Attention. Conversation, presents for birthdays/Christmas that show he understands how I think and what I like and wants to please me (this sounds mercenary, but it's not -- I value the thought that goes into a silly toy that makes me laugh, far more than tossing pricy jewelry at me because "that's what you get women"), hugs and kisses and casual comfortable touches (occasional handholding, arm around the shoulder, shoulder rubs, ruffling hair -- the little things that say "I'm comfortable with and attracted to you").
Partnership. Someone who'll be there to try to fill in the blanks when I go blank -- and someone who can let me do the same for him when he does. Some men get all huffy and want to Do Everything Themselves; women often need to be needed, too. Or the reverse, don't want to deal with their partner until there's something they want. Partnership is working together, compromising as necessary.
Sense of humor. This gets said a lot and then ignored but I MEAN it! I have a slightly quirky random sense of humor and I really appreciate anyone who can tickle it, whether a friend or a partner. Really, a partner should be a friend first, just, plus a lot more.
A nice pair of eyes and great smile never go to waste. Eyes are often said to be the window of the soul.
Honesty. Commitment (not necessarily meaning matrimony! but investing in the relationship). Trustworthiness.
And personally, I tend to like nice strong hands, and a bit longer hair to play with, and a long back and strong shoulders; lean and long build (okay, strong 70's influence on this...) But these are superficials and not as important, just first look attraction. WHO YOU ARE doesn't change as much (hopefully) as what you look like over your lifetime does.

You can't get much out of boys.....(boys will be boys)
What women want is to be respected and understood, sex helps too but that's not the most important (the love comes with the respect). When a guy pays attention to your wants and needs with no criticism, being sensitive. Only real men know how to make a women feel right, listening to our conversation even though it's not important. Making us feel wanted and needed too! a good personality and most importantly being able to be independent.

I want a man who is always respectful, knows enough to walk away rather than say something cruel, a man who never forgets that I am a woman and a man who protects and defends me. I expect to be treated as a human being with a brain and a heart.
I expect no more than I give and always remember that friendship, a true friendship with my man gets us through the hard times.
I am really lucky that I have one just like I wanted.

Well, expectations depend on the girl. But they want someone that makes them feel special, especially pretty. Some like a guy that will listen to her, no matter how boring she is. And although theres a big stereotype that this is mostly in men, but some girls like a guy that will give her lots of action. Hope it helps:).
