I think it sounds fine. I would think you might just mix your brown sugar into the ketchup for your "glaze". I bake my meatloaf in a bread pan/loaf dish. 350 F for about 1 1/4 hours if I start with about 1 1/2 pounds of meat. I use a combination of ground beef and ground pork. I use oatmeal as my binder, but I've seen other recipes that use stuffing mix.
Don't forget to put a bay leaf on the top while it's baking - it adds extra flavor.

I like simple easy things too. Here's the recipe I've been using for 35 years. Enjoy. 2 lbs lean ground beef 1 medium chopped onion 2 eggs 1 8 oz can tomato sauce 4-5 splashes of Worcestershire sauce (I never measure this...I just splash it in) about 3/4 of a stack of good saltine crackers, crumbled You want a consistency that is not too dry, but not sloppy wet. Add more crackers if it's too wet. Add some ketchup if it's too dry. Mix all the ingredients well. Form into a loaf shape on a baking sheet with edges, because you will get juice out of it. Bake at 350 degrees F for an hour. Remove from the oven and slather the top with 1/4 cup chili sauce mixed with 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar. Bake another 10 minutes.

For the glaze use ketchup & maybe a little honey. Your recipe looks just fine (except for the brown sug). As you get used to making meatloaf you'll start to get real creative.

I wouldn't use stuffing mix AND oatmeal. Use one or the other. I always throw in a big tablespoon of brown sugar to add a little sweetness.
