Why does the Judeo-Christian God have so many of mankind's weaknesses. Why would god have the personality of a selfish person who needs others to worship him? Seems arrogant?

Also it seems the God of the Old Testament has a different personality than Jesus, Did he have a split personality? How can god mature if he is perfect

>>Is God Perfect?<<
Yes

>>Why does the Judeo-Christian God have so many of mankind's weaknesses.<<

God doesn't have Mans weaknesses. Man is make in the IMAGe of God...so we would naturally have many traits that are like God...just in an imperfect form.

>>Why would god have the personality of a selfish person who needs others to worship him?<<

God doesn't need us to worship Him. We need to worship Him. When you worship, you look up to...seek advice from...hold in high regard...respect...follow. We need to do these things because we are sorely lacking in the big picture and when we do things on our own...we royally screw up.

>>Seems arrogant?<<

Nope. He just knows a heck of a lot more than we do. He sees the big picture, and if we allow Him to...he will show us the big picture and allow us to be a part of it.

>>Also it seems the God of the Old Testament has a different personality than Jesus, Did he have a split personality? <<

Dealing with different sets of people. One set of people had limited understanding of spiritual things, limited access to much of the spirituality of things. They were very much small children who needed to be guided and strict bounderies needed to be set. Physical punishments for infractions of the law were necessary because they didn't have the ability to understand the complexities of the spiritual punishments. When Jesus Came...he elevated the Law to show the spiritual applications of the law as well as the spiritual conquences of breaking that law. We had developed as a people to the point where those teachings could be used more effectively than in the past.

>>How can god mature if he is perfect<<

God didn't, His Children did. We are maturing towards perfection...but it is a path that we much choose to walk...because God won't force us.

God is perfect so he doesn't need to mature. God doesn't have split personality, He shows basic feelings like, love, anger, etc. And God isn't selfish, he is jealous. Get it right. What's so immature about being jealous. Is a husband not jealous of his wife? And by the way, you are sounding a lot more arrogant than God. Cause see, God has created everything.... What have you done?

Without a doubt, God is perfect. God has no weaknesses whatsoever. And He most certainly is not a selfish God. He is a God of love and of care and of understanding. I do not know where you get this crazy idea that God has a split personality. For God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are the same person; three in one, if you want to call it that. We may not understand such a thing with our human minds. But just the same, it is the truth. God does not have to mature. Where did you get such crazy ideas? I suggest that you get on your knees before God and ask for his divine forgiveness for speaking such foolishness. May God have mercy upon you.

God created us to worship Him and we choose not to...seems arrogant to me.

The choice is ours...ask God to restore us to who we really are or go on to eternity in our arrogance.

As for Jesus, when He returns with a sword out of His mouth to reap mankind's end, all of your questions will be cleared up about the God/Jesus agreement and your arrogance will be laid bare as you acknowledge Him....then comes the end.

What seems arrogant is this question.

Proverbs 5:23 He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.

Proverbs 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.

You stating that God has "the personality of a selfish person who needs others to worship him [sic]" is a flaw in itself, and therefore your question is moot. God does not need anything from us or anyone or thing else.

The people of the Old Testament were under the LAW; Jesus came to bring us a new way....a gift from God to release us from the law and bring us under grace instead.

God has no weaknesses. He isnt selfish...what an ignorant thing to say about a God who paid a debt He did not owe, for YOU who owed a debt you could not pay? Do you think He enjoyed being spit upon and dying a horrible death for YOUR sins? He had no sins of His own to die for...and He came specifically to die for YOUR sins.

Arrogant? I will tell you who is arrogant. Its YOU. You dont know love when its staring you in the face? When was the last time someone died for something YOU selfishly did or said, so that YOU wouldnt have to pay the piper and suffer the consequences?

God is not LIKE us....HE is the CREATOR, and we are the CREATION. He doesnt need to mature.

Why dont you try to get to know Him as He has revealed Himself in the scriptures instead of making all these wild accusations??????

I KNOW HIM...and He is nothing like what you think. Thats why He tells us not to try and figure things out with our OWN understanding. It has been skewered and twisted by sin and deceptive ways of thinking.

God doesnt lie, and I can always be assured that HE will tell me the truth, about myself, about others and most of all, about Himself.

God's requirement of worship is the most loving thing he can do. If God exists then by definition he is the best thing in the universe. If he is the best thing in the universe than the best thing he can do is reveal himself to us lesser things. If we have any common sense we will fall on our faces in adoration once that revelation has taken place.

No you have a incorrect understanding of the bible God is applicable and made no mistake. God did no longer apologized for the "Flood while it says repented the hebrew be conscious ability to sigh strongly As in sigh my creation has rebelled. The be conscious grieved is the hebrew intending to reason discomfort, or anger, or be displeased. you're attempting to apply english definitions for hebrew words. Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made guy on earth, and it grieved him at his coronary heart. The hebrew says that God sighed that he had made guy on earth, and he became displeased, or offended in his coronary heart. because of the fact of this God says in verse 7 Genesis 6:7 And the LORD pronounced, i will destroy guy whom I incredibly have made out of the face of the earth; the two guy, and beast, and the creeping factor, and the fowls of the air; for it repented me that I incredibly have made them He created the devil and gave him unfastened will to serve god or reject God. It became no mistake in turning out to be lucifer and the different angels that rebelled.
