I am getting a little pudgy belly and I want to stop before I actually get fat. I think mostly I eat things like pirogies, tortellini, and other noodle-y things at night, and I don't know why, but I need to stop! So any healthy night time snack ideas?

There are not any good night time snacks. You need to reduce your caloric intake as the day progresses with no calories after dinner. This is assuming that you sleep at night and not during the day. Your body does not burn that many calories while sleeping. It does while walking and exercising.

Most of the high carbohydrate items are best consumed during the early to middle part of the day, particularly a high GI item like corn (from popcorn).

An exception to this might be that if you are at a party and you must eat something, you would choose a lean protein of small portions (possibly only two or three).

Stick to things that are natural. Nothing man-made.
Fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Raw nuts - nothing seasoned or salted. Best idea is not to snack at all. Go for that. No food after eight o'clock and you can lose weight much more easily. Eat a huge breakfast. If you're not waking up hungry, you eat too late in the afternoon.

It's really bad to eat simple carbs like that at night, since it turns right into fat because you're not active enough to burn it off. The best things are fruit or yogurt, or maybe some whole grain cereal with lowfat milk.

The best thing for your metobolism is not to eat after 7. When you do your natural time clock clicks in and switched night time to day time hunger. You cant burn a lot off when you are asleep.

baked apples with cinnamon
baked tostitoes and salsa
drink water with lime juice - will cut your appetite
a grapefruit baked in microwave with light butter
spaghetti squash cooked with brown sugar (lite)

sherbert
fruit smoothie
rice cakes - caramel

slice of bread with cream cheese and banana

Don't eat after 8 PM. Your metabolism is slowing down around then in preparation for sleep, and while you sleep any food that isn't already processed will essentially go straight to fat. If you must have something, choose a filling vegetable like celery or just drink glass or two of water.

fruit/vegetables. (low-calorie naturally and a lot of vitamins)
special-k red berries as well. any cereal with less than 150 calories plus milk is healthier (and lighter) than any pasta.
just watch the portion sizes. you can eat all the vegetables and fruit you want, though, with like no weight gain.

Fruit or something w/ no fat. It is not good to eat past 9:30 p.m. either, due to the body's functioning is slower to digest.

Really low fat (no butter added) popcorn, Special K cereal, honey and oats bar, yogurt (frozen yogurt would be like ice cream).
