The research report read:
Student: I took the pressure measurement according to AHA guidelines.
Teacher: But, you did it wrong
Student: Actually, I did it right, you are the one who is wrong.

-or-

When students proposed to take the pressure according to the AHA guidelines their mentors made the mistake of correcting them; this was noted in the research. The students and not the mentor was correct.

Means just what it says. when students tried to take pressures (I'm assuming BP) by the heart association guidelines that their teachers (mentors) corrected them. Obviously their mentors didn't agree with the AHA's guidelines.

Well in what respect? Says what it says. The students were following the correct guidelines but the mentors were 'correcting them' which in fact was incorrect instructions and/or giving them bad advice.

You know I've actually saw an example of something like this, (was in the area of handling/lifting of clients/patients) can happen whenever new guidelines are established but the instructors who learned to do such and such 20 years ago, didn't know and carried on doing it they way they always did. Which in the realms of more modern thinking could hurt and injure the patient.
