Christians do not bash JWs for preaching. Jesus gave the commission to all of His disciples. What we have a complaint about is WHAT the JWs preach: a different Christ (Michael the Arch-Angel) and a different gospel (one of works, rather than of Grace, as taught in Scripture). The Apostle Paul says that we are SUPPOSED to reject the message of those who preach another Jesus and another Gospel than that which the Apostles taught. He said that a message other than what they taught is from a different spirit and he tells us which spirit that is--the spirit and the skewed gospel of Satan himself. See 2 Corinthians 11: 3, 4.

All Christians (a) do not bash JW's, (b) do not bash JW's for preaching. That's alittle bit of a judgemental statement if you ask me; sounds as if you are bashing "all christians" with this statement.

Preaching is a vital aspect of a Christian's ministry, as is taking care of the "least of these my brothers" as Christ said.

What I find rather offensive is how they are "encouraged" (in other words commanded) to meet certain quotas with the amount of hours put in, bible studies conducted, books and magazine placements, return visits etc. I believe a Christian's ministry should be performed from the heart, just as contributing monetarily to God (ie a religion). I also object to the fact that during the hottest months of the year, and the coldest months of the year, they "drag" their smallest ones from door to door sweating or freezing from 9 am till whatever. Their manner of presenting their witnessing is intrusive, sometimes rude, arguementative. They want to witness to you but have absolutely no desire to receive your witnessing.

They also are under the impression that they are the ONLY religion doing any preaching. That is an absolute falsehood. While it might be true that other religions do not have the majority of the globe sectioned off into territory cards, and those territories kept records of as to the frequency of coverage, other religions do preach. I myself have participated quite frequently in the preaching work of the church I attend.

I also "preach" by walking the walk, not just talking the talk. I witness in word and action. People have approached me and asked me what makes me so different than say my coworkers or my neighbors. I believe this glorifies God as people can see my religion instead of just hearing words. I give testimonies in every aspect of my life, including here on YA. My husband and I ride motorcycles and I have even had the opportunity to testify to my faith with bikers. I probably would have never found them at home early on a Saturday morning in a receptive mood, however, they were receptive in their own daily life.

Preaching isn't just about finding and converting people into your denomination. It is about leading them to Christ, planting, watering, and letting God make it grow.

CarolD .........had a very good answer. Not all Christians bash JW's and don't bash them for preaching. Sounds like a huge categorization...very judgemental. Nor am I sure that the JW bible is a Christian bible. I don't know all about JW's but I believe that JW bible is a twist on the Christian and therefore you can't say it is Our Bible when it reads differently.

If only the JWs preached the same gospel that Paul preached, I would join them going door-to-door. But they are preaching another gospel - a false gospel that Paul said brings a curse Gal. 1:6-9.

Paul desired to know nothing but Christ, and him crucified. That's what he preached - sins forgiven by Christ's dying and rising again, that sinners must put faith in that alone for their salvation. The Watchtower Society gets JWs to preach the need to follow their 'faithful & discreet slave' class (their elite leadership in New York - 12 or so men) and that without such preaching there is no salvation (Wt mag 15 July 1972 p423). They even blasphemously claim those anointed Christians 'have brought "many to righteousness", including the "great crowd" of "other sheep" (Wt. mag 1 Sept 2007 p20). I thought Jesus did that?

When JWs stop preaching Armageddon followed by a paradise earth as their gospel, and talk to people about sins forgiven by faith in Christ and following him alone, then you will see a marked difference in Christians' attitudes towards them. Even if JWs had the honesty to admit millions of non-JWs preach Christ, that would help, but I'll be astonished if that ever happens.

i do no longer remember any church coaching a thank you to bash on human beings. If for some unusual reason it have been to take place, the assumption of religious spirituality could be misplaced; and the term hypocrite could be thrusted upon the guy doing the bashing!

Dear KCir16,

Correcting wrong information is NOT bashing.

You have received good answers citing the differences between what Christians teach and what JWs teach.

I have about 50 Bibles in many different translations and I consider them ALL to be the LIVING Word of God.

I also have a copy of the NWT and that is NOT the Living Word so that I call it a black book rather than a Bible.

Please take a look at Deuteronomy 19:20-22 in the Bible and you will see how each and everyone of us can find out how to discern whether a person or organization is speaking on man's behalf or God's behalf.

The Watchtower has on more than one occasion given a specific date for Armageddon and each of those dates has passed without Armageddon taking place. On that basis I know that those who belong to the FALSE Prophet should not be listened to.

It is that simple.

Now, those of us who are speaking up do so because we care about those who are deceived by the Watchtower. If we didn't care we would shrug our shoulders and say "To each their own."

Please listen.

For His glory,
JOYfilled

Most Christians do not bash JW's for preaching, nor do they usually attack individual JW's themselves; preaching led by the Spirit is commendable and what Christians were commanded to do, but preaching from literature from a body of imperfect men is not what it is all about. What we do have problems with are the corrupted version of the Bible produced by the Watchtower society, and I think you will find some excellent scriptures quoted on here by others which reveal the truth. Some of us also have an issue with the self righteous attitude of many of the JW's who post on here, and, we get fed up of individual JW's who think that any answer that does not agree with Watchtower doctrine or which reveals the truth about the organisation is somehow a personal attack on them. I'm sorry but if you don't wish to hear other peoples opinions and you don't wish to see the truth then why come on here. True, some answers are personal attacks, but I think that you will find that Christians in general get these sort of answers, and, after all, Jesus said that most people in this age of man would reject the message, therefore we expect 'Christian bashing'. I believe, that if you stepped outside of the paranoa created by the society about anything not of the organisation, you would find that many of the answers you recieve wish to wake you up from your Watchtower fed delusions and help you to find the real truth. I posted questions as a JW, was initially affronted by some of the answers from members of so called 'Babylon the Great' but I began to use the great gift that God gave me and think for myself. I then prayed to Jehovah to help me see the real truth and guess what, I saw some of the answers in a very different light and now I am free to worship in freedom and truth. I will continue to pray that the scales be lifted from the eyes of my brothers and sisters. May Jehovah send his Holy Spirit to guide you.

2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
2Ti 4:6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: KJV

Are you allowed to read anything besides NWT? You DO REALIZE don't you, that when Paul was done, he was going to go get his head chopped off, and he certainly wasn't saying anything he considered unnecessary. Why did you leave out verses 3 & 4? Do your leaders in JW know where you're at and what you're doing? We aren't JW, and I didn't know you could talk to us. May the Triune God Bless your search for truth, and may you meet Jesus Christ peaceably before meeting him forcibly.

One bows in the face of omniscience.

But what then was I doing this morning when two Witnesses came to my door? I let her (only one spoke) give her spiel for a few minutes, we discussed the importance of understanding God's plan, I explained my religious perspective, she gave me some suggestions for further reading, I gave her some, and we parted wishing each other well.

Not all do.
Also, first, this was direction to Timothy concerning his ministry, and of course does extend to all those in ministerial work.
However, it is well documented that the JWs preach contrary to the standard Christian doctrines, especially concerning the deity of Jesus Christ.
Their translation of the Bible contains many differences that cannot be reconciled with the original languages.
If any disagree with this, read the book I list as reference.
I admire their devotion and their perseverance. They do many good things. I think what the problem is, is strictly theological.
