Why are Christians so quick to judge Rastas? Fundamentally, they have the same beliefs as Christians (minus the ganja and Selassie), and some Rasta groups don't think Haile Selassie is to be worshiped (12 Tribes of Israel, I believe). Some of these so-called 'Christians' have gone so far as to say that Rastafarians are "satanic"! Christians say that some Rastas are bad for praying to Selassie, but Rastafarians are no worse than Catholics (who pray to Mary, and every saint that the church has 'canonized')! I think, especially these days, it's the worst time for Christians and Rastas to be fighting. We should unite, for we worship Jesus. One love!

I am a Christian and I do not wish to fight with the Rastafarian's. If you love and worship Jesus Christ, then we are one. God Bless Us.

This topic is very big and deserve an appropriate answer. I will try I best to achieve this. When we speak about the Ras Tafarian
way of life its roots go beyond the date of modern Christianity. If the I's know the story of samu eel. When his mother asked for a child {because she was unable to conceive } and if she gets this child she would give him back to the most high {As in let him live
the life of a Nazerite} , and she promised not to put a razor in his head. That in the Bible the story of samu eel shows clearly what the livity of Ras Tafari is about. Now Ras Tafari is an amalgamation of orthodox christianity and Garveyism. There is just a slight amount of differences with ras tafari and the orthodox church of aksum. Search this out for yourself read Psalms 2 it speaks of Haile Selassie I confronting the league of nations after mussolini invaded Ethiopia and even used chemical weapons which was even against rules of conventional war. The Nations who signed a treaty of security and did nothing to help betrayed HIM , until HIM prophecy which he said that which befalls my country will also become a threat to yours and shall suffer the same faith until they have uphold their agreement. Psalms 68 and 110 speaks of Haile Selassie when he fought against the dragon and wounded one of its head which was Mussolini.{Revelations 13} Christians should be at peace with Ras Tafarians and, di InI dem now do like wise. SIGHT
Bless in the name of yeashua, Marcus I Selassie I Yah Rastafari.

I think the Selassie bit is more significant than you credit it with. He is not prayed to as a saint, but as God incarnate. I think in places like Jamaica, where Christians have more experience with Rastas, there is more understanding, as in the case of the funeral of Bob Marley, which was celebrated by an Ethiopian Orthodox priest (I believe)

rastafarianism is not a religion,it is a way of life and an acceptance of kinship to other africans in the world. the color of the person doesn't matter but only blacks are seriously taken as rastas, whites and others are coptic rastas(into the legelizing of the herb). they give it a bad name. i chose rastfari over any thing called religion .it's no different than being chinese and going to a chinese school to learn your own culture and history and to see the connectiveness in the whole african diaspora.
