I am not at all saying that Mormon's are rude or mean spirited because generally they are nice people or so they appear so in the marketplace and schools. But in Yahoo answers I have been called the most vile names by individuals that claim to be "Mormons."

Bartolomeo called me "a little twirp" Rather on the immature side than vile I guess.

imback_missme said, "Your ignorant" Not quite turning the other cheek is he.

There have been others as well but it would be a sin for me to remember what they said. So I am beginning to believe that most people that say they are LDS on Yahoo answers are not.

Granted I may have asked some questions that exposed LDS' dirty laundry but I thought that LDSers were taught to turn the other cheek!

Further I thought that Mormons were not allowed to use the internet.

Some people have said that Mormons don't use the Internet or watch TV.

Oh don't dare try to play the victim. You pretend to be someone that youre not (In some posts you pretend to be black, in others you pretend to be mormon, and then in others you say "vile" things about such groups to which you allegedly belong).

Why is calling you a twirp un-LDS? If you act like one, someone is going to call you on it. Ignorant means unlearned about something, and from your questions, it would appear that you have some learning to do yourself. I wouldn't say that was very un-Mormon like. It probably was an observation more then anything.

What dirty laundry have you "exposed"? Your questions are nothing but immature attempts to try and say you know something about our church. You try to say you know about our church, but haven't done one shred of research on it. We will turn the other cheek, but if you are spewing falsehoods, it is our obligation to call you on it and to inform you of the way it really is. Would be good followers of our religion if we didn't tell you what we really believed in? How much respect would you have for us if we just kept our mouths shut and didn't illuminate you on what you are wrong about? Turning the other cheek doesn't mean that you ignore when someone has said things that were wrong about you, it means you don't stoop to their level and do the same thing to them. We aren't stooping, we are informing.

And your screen name offends me too.

Actually, I have found that most of them are polite. However, there will always be some who demonstrate their weaknesses once in a while and be verbally aggressive; I have seen some comments posted by a few Mormons which I considered to be inappropriate. Often there is a tendency for some people to retaliate when their beliefs are attacked. Nevertheless, I suppose you should be glad they weren't as blunt as Paul, who might have called you a child of the devil (Acts 13:8-10). :)

You may be confusing Mormons with the Amish. Mormons can use all of the wonderful technological achievements that the world has to offer. In fact, Milo Farnsworth was the inventor of TV and he was Mormon.

Mormons are taught to be kind to others and to be Christlike in all our words and deeds. However, some may fall to the weaknesses of mortality and have a sharp tongue. Unfortunately, the Internet allows for much anonymity and that anonymity sometimes causes people to hide behind it and be less personal than they would be in person.

enable me take a wild guess and say which you probably did no longer get this innovations from an internet site it rather is friendly to Mormons. a number of it rather is right, a number of it rather is slanted, a number of it rather is fake. at the beginning, God advised Joseph Smith to connect not one of the church homes, to no longer initiate his very own church. He wasn't called to restoration the Christian church till later. alongside with the e book of gold plates, there became additionally a Urim and Thumim deposited interior the stone container. It became defined as 2 diamond shaped crystal stones set right into a twine physique. It wasn't spectacular per se. Joseph had a definite present. He became a seer. A seer can see issues specially stones. Few human beings realize it, yet Peter is a nickname that Jesus gave Simon - it actually skill seer stone. approximately 15 separate human beings claimed to have considered the e book of Mormon, sixteen in case you incorporate Emma who felt it via a skinny fabric. the interpretation of the 1st e book - the e book of Lehi - became lost or stolen. Joseph became counciled to proceed on with the interpretation, and not retranslate that which became lost. It has in no way grew to become up.

AAAAAaaaaahahahahahahaa! We're not supposed to use the internet?? http://lds.org/portal/site/LDSOrg

Inteligence, knowledge, and education are prized by the members of this church- knowledge being one of the few things we CAN take with us when we die.

On the one hand, yes, we're taught (as any other Christians) to turn the other cheek. Turning the other cheek to insults is one thing, but allowing people to spew moronic, unfounded, nonsense is a whole different thing.

Next time you insult someone, don't be surprised if they call you a name. We're Mormons... human, not perfected quite yet.

A thought- Are you Christian??... If so, what happened to the Golden Rule? If I insulted your religion, mocked doctrines you held near and dear... what kind of insults would you fling my way?

Speaking of mocking doctrines that are held near and dear, I agree with the sentiment expressed about your userID. It's a cheep jab at something that is dear and wonderful to us.... and you've used a techniqiue that Satan has used since the Creation- take something sacred, holy and twist it all out of shape to make it appear ugly.

Good job!

You have us mixed up with the Amish.

You have exposed no dirty laundry, only your ignorance of what the LDS really believe. Also, please do not make the mistake of thinking that we are perfect, because we are not. Many times, when people come here and post some of the most ridiculous, inane, and ignorant questions or answers, it's hard NOT to say things that we later regret.

Yes, we can use the Internet. We are not ommish. I have about 40 LDS people on my contact list. I find them EXTREMELY patient and kind in their answers. And trust me, the Mormon haters can really lay it on thick. So if you want people to be nice, don't give them an opportunity to have to defend their religion. This is not suppose to be a attack site. Genuine questions, not mud throwing.

BTW..your screen name is VERY offense to me.

They get mad if you don't believe that some guy name Joseph Smith saw something floating in thin air and wrote a book about it. And some prophet (I mean PROFIT) said that they have to wear these silly long underwear that can only be purchased through their 'Church' ... you can't buy them at stores, only through the Church ... $$$$$$$ ..> Cha, Ching !

And they don't understand why their 'Church' is the only one that tells them what they have to wear, what they can drink .. ie, no caffeine.

ANd they get a little mad because people don't understand that if a kid grows up on 1st and Main and goes to the same 'ward' for 25 years, then gets married and moves to 20th and main, then they have to move 'wards' ...they can not go to the same 'ward' as the rest of their family. God want's it this way, you know.

That's the way they answer the embarrassing questions they dont have answers for. They get angry and tell everybody not to listen to . There are a couple of bishops on here that they obey and stick their heads in the sand. Even when you show them scripture to back up your claim, and proof of their own writings. They call you a hater or a basher. Just like the answer above me..
